On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Jim Jones uploaded an Instagram post announcing to fans that the release of his latest diss track, JOMO (Jump Off My AYOO), had been pushed by his label. The single, which was previously set to be released on January 20, is now going to be released eleven days later, on January 31, 2025.
Per HotNewHipHop, the track, produced by Statik Selektah, is aimed at his Diplomats bandmate, Cam'ron. In it, Jim Jones responds to Cam's heated rant about him on an episode of the It Is What It Is podcast on January 13, 2025.
Jones' Instagram post has since gone viral, receiving over 483K views, 27K likes, and 1.9K comments. Netizens have been reacting to it, with one of them commenting:
"Labels bugging gotta strike while the iron hot"
The comment references the ongoing feud between the Harlem rappers, which started last month. Meanwhile, other comments on the post talked about how "JOMO" wasn't the suitable acronym for the track.
On the other hand, some users complimented the rapper on his previous works.
In the preview of the upcoming song added with the Instagram post, Jim Jones rapped:
"All my n***as do they time, you know my team body / It’s been seven years since I’ve seen Shotti / It’s been seven years since I saw Melly / And now he gotta fly straight ’cause he got four fellies."
Jim Jones continued:
"So what more you want to ask him? / You n***as taught me how to rap, and now I’m platinum."
Besides the news about JOMO, Jimmy also revealed that he would release the remix of Tht Sh!t Still in HARLEM's on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Jim Jones' diss responds to Cam'ron's rant from January 13
Jimmy's upcoming diss track is considered a calculated response to Killa Cam's rant on a sports talk show earlier in January. In the episode, which was uploaded to YouTube on January 13, 2025, Cam'ron claimed that the Nine Trey rapper had previously begged them to join their collective, saying:
"I never needed nowhere to stay. You act like n****s were on your couch, you were a fan. You begged us, you were a fan. A fan. We didn't grow up with you. I am from 140th and Lennox... You were fanned out and begged n****s to come to your house after you heard all these mixtapes. That's how you got in."
Cam'ron also recalled several instances on the talk show, one of which involved Jones getting one of his associates into legal trouble. In another incident, he claimed that the members of BMF chased Jim on the Miami beach, adding:
"They chased you to the beach, n*gga. You was in the sand. Wet from the water, from the ocean."
The beef between Jim Jones and Cam'ron started in the 2000s
The beef between the rappers stems from a 2000s incident, which Cam'ron spoke about on the Talk With Flee podcast uploaded on YouTube on December 10, 2024.
The 357 rapper recounted an incident from 2007 when 50 Cent invited the Dipset members Jones and Juelz Santana to perform with him in a New York City show while excluding him. Cam' describes the stunt as "devious," adding that he felt betrayed by the move but went on to call it a wise decision.
On January 6, 2025, Jim Jones responded to Cam'ron's statement on Justin Laboy's Respectfully podcast, saying:
"Them n***as be on my d*ck. Them n***as ain’t got nothing else to think about but Capo. I did a lot for them n***as in their life, ya heard? Both of them. Pause, though. Get off my d*ck! It’s only space on there for baby girl. Come on, man. Tugging on my sh*t like that"
The duo has been at odds ever since.
While the snippet of Jones' unreleased diss track was uploaded alongside his announcement post yesterday, Cam'ron has yet to react to it.
