In a video circulating on X, rapper Shad Gregory Moss, also known as Bow Wow, was seen performing the 40-yard dash in an attempt to break the existing record. The video showed that he took six seconds and ten milliseconds to complete the sprint.
Soon after the clip went viral, netizens reacted with various comments. While some invoked fictional characters like Shaggy Rogers, others commented on the outcome of his sprint. However, other netizens reacted to his form and posture.
“bro hamstrings didn’t even activate until 20 yards in”, said one X user.
“Bro running like he got cinder blocks strapped to his ankles”, wrote another X user.
“Think he gotta work on his form”, replied one person.
Other users recalled how the rapper had once reportedly said he could "run a 4.5." Other users commented on the futility of his performance.
“The fact that we are all living the same life at different times is actually crazy. I know this all started with someone talking shit and he got gassed up and said, ‘I know I can run a 4.5.’ It always ends like this lol”, wrote one person on X.
“Bow Wow run like Shaggy”, replied another X user.
Netizens commented on the abilities of people who play sports while hinting that the sprint is not everyone’s cup of tea.
“6 secs in a 40 time is insane he couldn’t even make a JV team with that time”, reacted another person.
“People really watch sports and really think yeah I can do. Naw bruh those are mutants”, commented another X user.
The 40-yard dash is used to determine a sprinter's acceleration. The player has to run a sprint of 40 yards, and the required time is recorded. As per the NFL, the fastest recorded time is below 4.30 seconds.
Bow Wow was hospitalized due to his lean addiction
In an episode of The Art of Dialogue, released in February, the rapper talked about his addiction problem, which eventually got him hospitalized. He mentioned that he always had a bottle of lean wherever he went for tours. Bow Wow said that he had reached a point of no return after he collapsed on stage while touring with Chris Brown.
“We were on our tour, I was co-headlining with Chris Brown, and the opening night was in Cincinnati and when I got off stage, I collapsed. I went straight to Cincinnati University Hospital. My stomach was so f***** up that I ended up going back home to Atlanta after the first show”, said the rapper.
He also credited his then-publicist for coming up with dehydration as the reason rather than the addiction-related mishap. Bow Wow made his debut rap on Beware of Dog in 2000, and his debut single, Bounce with Me, was released in the same year.
Besides rapping, he is also an actor. Bow Wow played a supporting role in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift in 2006.
