Billie Eilish is currently in the middle of her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour and her latest show happened in Glendale, Arizona on Friday, December 13, 2024. Meanwhile, an incident transpired at the show that became a topic of discussion on social media. While the singer was performing, a concertgoer threw a bracelet at her.
Billie was singing her track What I Was Made For? when the act happened. The artist got hit in the face, since she had her eyes closed at the time.
Videos capturing the same have been going viral on the internet. After being hit in the face by the bracelet, the singer briefly paused before resuming the performance. Billie Eilish was then seen tossing the item away.
Subsequently, netizens flooded social media platforms criticizing the act by the unknown concertgoer. Here are some popular responses found on X:
"Why do people keep doing this, haven't they learnt anything?" a user questioned.
Another user wrote on X:
"And she threw it away as she should. When will y’all learn to stop throwing stuff at celebs."
"She handled it well I would’ve called time out," added a tweet.
"Literally why are people still doing this," asked a netizen.
Others claimed that if concertgoers continued behaving this way, artists might consider not conducting intimate performances. A user commented:
"This style of intimate performances will be going away soon. Artists will be performing behind mesh screens like we’re watching them through a microwave door."
"Common decency and courtesy is thrown out the window when we forget that celebrities and artists are human too," added a tweet.
"That's NOT a 'fan,'" declared another netizen.
Several fans faced ticket issues while trying to attend Billie Eilish's show in Glendale
At the December 13 show where Billie Eilish got hit in the face during her performance, several fans reportedly faced difficulties trying to enter the venue. Some of them who had purchased floor tickets from anywhere except Ticketmaster were turned away, as reported by ABC 15 Arizona on December 12.
One such distressed ticket buyer, Kellie Wells, had purchased tickets for her 16-year-old daughter Reagan, as per the media outlet. She added that Reagan was a big fan of Billie Eilish. Along with Wells, her friend too bought tickets for their daughters. They were reportedly denied entry when Wells went to collect the floor wristbands the day before the concert (Thursday). She said:
"My friend got the tickets on StubHub. I was going to go out to the stadium to wait to get the floor wristbands for the three girls."
The outlet further reported that it wasn't just Kellie and her group but several others who faced the same issue. Another fan who intended to attend Billie Eilish's Glendale concert told ABC that the venue authorities mentioned their tickets weren't valid, denying them entry.
StubHub later issued a statement through ABC 15, stating solutions for the next day (Friday), as they said:
"We have successfully assisted thousands of ticket holders in gaining access to this specific tour using this ticket type, and we are confident that the links provided will grant access to the event."
12News later reported on December 13 that issues regarding the apparently invalid tickets were eventually resolved.
