Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly on the verge of getting a divorce and insider sources of The Daily Mail have reported that the divorce papers have already been signed by the couple. In a recent episode of the podcast Collect Calls With Suge Knight, the Death Row CEO claimed that the alleged separation between JLO and Ben Affleck has something to do with Diddy.
Diddy and Jennifer Lopez were involved in an infamous nightclub shooting incident in 1999 and the case has recently come into the limelight after Diddy was accused of multiple charges of s*x trafficking, physical violence on Cassie Ventura, and other illegal activities.
Suge Knight alleged that the FBI raided Diddy's home in Miami and LA and recovered tapes from the 1999 shooting incident involving Jennifer Lopez and Diddy, uncovering troubling details. The FBI then allegedly showed the tapes to Ben Affleck due to the potentially catastrophic impact if made public.
"I’m quite sure they [FBI] probably called. And the FBI gave respect and a courtesy call to Ben Affleck. It’s a white man who got respect in the white world. I’m quite sure they said, ‘We want to show you some things about your wife,’" commented Suge.
According to Suge Knight, the content of the tapes was the major reason for the rift between Jennifer Lopez and Affleck.
“When he seen the s##t that her and Puff was doing and who they be doing it with, I’m quite sure that they gave his a*s those tapes and I’m quite sure he can never look at her the same,” commented Knight.
Suge went on to predict that the rumored rift between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez will be permanent and they would not be able to resolve their current differences. Calling Affleck a "man who had a good life", the 59-year-old commented that he wanted a divorce to get out of Jennifer Lopez's life after knowing about her 1999 debacle with Diddy.
“I’m quite sure they headed for divorce because that’s a man who had a good life. Great parents don’t spend a lot of money. Ain’t tripping off paparazzi, he’s living his life. He got his own team. She done brought all tha extra s##t out and now that muthaf###a he want out,” commented Suge Knight.
Suge Knight's latest accusations of Diddy follow his previous statements on the Collect Call podcast in March. There, the music mogul issued a warning and implored Diddy to surrender to law enforcement.
“I’ll tell you what Puffy. Your life’s in danger ‘cause you know the secrets, who’s involved in that little secret room you guys are participating in. So, you know they’re going to get you if they can,” he had said.
Why were Jennifer Lopez and Diddy arrested in 1999?
Jennifer Lopez and Sean 'Diddy' Combs were arrested along with Diddy's bodyguard Anthony 'Wolf' Jones and rapper Jamal 'Shyne' Barrow from a nightclub at Times Square for allegedly getting involved in a gunfight that injured three bystanders.
According to a report by the NY Post, the four got involved in a war of words with some men when Jamal 'Shyne' Barrow fired several shots with his 9mm Ruger. According to the prosecutor, Diddy also pulled out a gun during the brawl.
While the police were able to catch Barrow outside the club, Diddy, Jennifer Lopez and the bodyguard took off in their Lincoln Navigator SUV and had already disregarded 11 red lights before they were finally arrested by the cops. The three of them and the driver were arrested by the police after a 9mm semiautomatic gun was discovered on the floor of the car.
However, Jennifer Lopez was released almost 12 hours after she was arrested by the cops and was reportedly taken out through the backdoor and escorted via a black Mercedes.
“It’s over and she was completely exonerated. She had nothing to do with the gun. She had nothing to do with the shooting. We’re glad the truth won out,” commented her lawyer Larry Rughgiero at that time [via New York Post].
The 25-year-old case has come up in the limelight once again after Diddy's video in which he was physically assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura went viral and several big names in the industry opened up about how they were exploited by the music industry mogul.
Notably, in March 2024, Homeland Security conducted a thorough investigation of Diddy's houses in Miami and Los Angeles to aid in their investigation of his s*x-trafficking allegations. These allegations came from Rodney Jones who filed a lawsuit against the 54-year-old accusing him of repeatedly harassing him s*xually between September 2022 to November 2023.
