DDG's livestream was recently stream-sniped by a Halle Bailey fan who wanted to give the actress and singer some flowers. According to the livestream posted on Twitch on January 12, Bailey, DDG, and their son Halo were in Orlando with some friends when a woman ran into the group.
The clip of the interaction, posted on X by user @FearedBuck received 6.1 million views at the time of this article. In the clip, a woman approached DDG while he was livestreaming and handed him a bouquet, tied with other gifts to give to Halle Bailey. The actress, who saw the interaction, then walked over to the fan to talk to her and hug her, while the fan looked seemingly emotional.
DDG can be overheard telling his friends that Halle Bailey got steam-sniped by the fan. For the unversed, "stream sniped" is a term used when someone intentionally seeks out a streamer to insert themselves into the stream. It is usually done when a streamer plays a multiplayer game, in which the stream sniper deliberately joins the game to derail the stream.
DDG reportedly getting stream sniped was met with mixed responses on social media. Many speculated on how he felt at the moment, with one user hypothesizing that he didn't look happy.
"He didn’t like that at all lol.. Watch his face the whole time!"
Several netizens commented on Halle Bailey's reaction after seeing the fan and hugging her, calling her a sweetheart.
"“Are you sure” she’s so nice," one person wrote.
"Halle is such a sweetheart bless her heart," another user added.
"This was sooo sweet it made me cry," someone else commented.
"Made her day!!! That so sweet of her," another person tweeted.
However, others used the interaction as a commentary about idolizing celebrities, pointing out the negative aspects of celebrity culture.
"This is very sweet, but does nobody else think it’s also very creepy? This girl doesn’t actually know Halle at all and she’s obsessed to the point of crying when she meets her… celeb culture has rotted everyone’s brains jesus wept. Idolatry is so twisted and weird," one user commented.
"Yeeeesh!!! its giving me baby reindeer vibes," another person added.
"This is sweet, but you should never idolize a celebrity in such a way. They’re no better than you.," someone else wrote.
Halle Bailey and DDG recently celebrated their son's birthday
Halle Bailey and DDG celebrated their son Halo's first birthday in December. The parents held a Cocomelon-themed birthday party for the one-year-old, which Bailey shared pictures of on her Instagram page with the caption:
"Happy birthday to my halo God gave me the greatest gift in you time flies when you’re having fun & mommy just can’t believe that you’re one."
Halo's birthday came two months after the couple announced they had parted ways. The couple first started dating in 2022 and made their red carpet-debut at the 2022 BET Awards in June.
In January 2024, Halle Bailey announced the news of Halo's birth amid rumors of her pregnancy. In October, DDG took to his Instagram Story to reveal he and Bailey had mutually decided to go their separate ways.
“After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared," he wrote.
DDG added that he and Halle Bailey still considered each other "best friends" and looked forward to continuing their relationship as co-parents to their son, Halo.
