Daylyt recently made an appearance on The Apollo podcast and recalled how Kendrick Lamar reacted when Drake released one of his diss tracks amidst their ongoing rap war. Narrating the entire incident, Daylyt said:
"It's a FaceTime call, so I ignore the first one. He called again. I'm like, 'Oh, it must be important.' So, I'm thinking like it's an emergency because Ab-Soul don't really FaceTime me, especially not that early. I picked up, it was Dot bro. N**** was just lookin’ at the camera and hung up."
Daylyt added:
“The smirk that the n***a had on his face. The last time I saw that was when I was doing shenanigans. It was evil. He about to go to no return with this sh*t. Like this ain’t regular rap beef. He about to go to no return!”
On the other hand, Daylyt did not reveal which track Kendrick Lamar reacted to. For the unversed, Daylyt AKA Davone Campbell started rapping in 2010. Apart from his songs, the rapper is also known for his appearances on shows like Total Slaughter and The Sisterhood of Hip Hop.
“I spoke to Cole, I spoke to Dot, I spoke to Drake. The beef is over”: Daylyt’s previous claims about the feud between the rappers coming to an end explored
Drake and Kendrick Lamar have released several diss tracks targeting each other this year. While the duo’s feud began in the last decade, it reignited in March 2024, after Kendrick Lamar released Like That dissing Drake and J. Cole.
While Drizzy and Lamar’s feud has been in the news for the whole year, however, Daylyt, who claims to share a close relationship with both rappers tweeted in June, this year, stating how both the artists have claimed that their rap war is finally over. In a now-deleted tweet, Daylyt stated:
"I spoke to Cole, I spoke to Dot, I spoke to Drake. The beef is over. We back to making good music. To all rap n***as tha game has ben set hof!"
It is worth noting that both, Drake and Kendrick Lamar have released several tracks dissing each other, however, the most popular from the lot has been Not Like Us which Kendrick Lamar released in May 2024.
Billboard also released a list of revenue earned by the rapper from each of their diss tracks, as per which, Not Like Us earned Kendrick Lamar a whopping $15.3 million.
Billboard did not include certain tracks, such as Taylor Made Freestyle, 616 in LA, and The Heart Part 6, as they were not available on streaming platforms. However, according to their recent report, Kendrick Lamar's popular track Not Like Us brought in an impressive $7.6 million, while Like That followed with $4.6 million in earnings.
Meanwhile, Drake's diss track Family Matters managed to pull in $982,000 in revenue. Among the other tracks that brought in significant revenue were Push Ups, which earned $970,000, Meet The Grahams, generating $795,000, and Euphoria, contributing $441,000 to Kendrick Lamar's earnings.
While Daylyt’s narration about Lamar’s reaction has garnered a lot of reactions from the masses, it is worth noting that neither Drake nor Lamar ever publicly reacted to the diss tracks. Furthermore, the two rappers also kept silent on the Billboard report on their alleged earnings from the songs.
