Blockstar, one of the purported killers of the rapper Pop Smoke, appeared on the No Jump podcast on July 4, 2024. The rapper, who is currently out on bail, seemingly showed no remorse for his alleged actions, which left netizens furious.

During the interview, Blockstar said that he was "not sorry about nothing" but added that Pop Smoke shouldn't have been killed. He further said that if he could go back in time, he would, before reiterating that he wasn't sorry. The comments left social media users enraged, and they took to Instagram to call him out, with one person stating that the rapper "hadn't been humbled."

When the podcast host, Adam, asked Blockstar about Pop Smoke's murder, which happened in 2020, he claimed that he didn't regret anything. Smoke was killed in an attempted home invasion at his Hollywood Hills home in February 2020, and Blockstar was one of the four people charged with the murder.

“I’m not sorry about nothing. It should’ve never happened, but I ain’t sorry. If I could go back, I’d go back. But I ain’t sorry. People die every day. [Pop Smoke] was rapping about it. All types of stuff. So, I ain’t sorry about it. I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But I don’t regret nothing," Blockstar told Adam.

Blockstar, who was a minor at the time of the murder, told the podcast host how while growing up, his family told him that he shouldn't feel sorry about anything. He added that they told him that whatever he did, was done "for a reason."

“Growing up, my people, my family told me, ‘You ain’t sorry for nothing. Whatever you did, you did it for a reason and stand on it'," the rapper said.

When fans heard the interview, they were shocked that Blockstar seemingly had no remorse for his alleged actions. They took to social media to call him out with many claiming that he should have been given a longer prison sentence.

“It’s wild that he even has a interview lol,” one X user stated.
“Bro is standing on the wrong business,” another platform user said.
“He’s only not sorry cuz he’s free. Let them have given him life in prison this nonchalant stance would not be the same narrative,” another internet user stated.

Blockstar only served a few years in prison for the alleged murder of Pop Smoke and it is reported that he believed that his own sentence was too light. However, he never revealed what he believed was the appropriate punishment for his actions.

On social media, netizens were furious at Blockstar's comments as many wondered who was "raising these demons."

“See what y’all doin to these young ppl,” an X user said.
“Who raising these demons,” another platform user stated.
“Interviewing a murder[er] is not it man,” an internet user said.

However, it wasn't just Blockstar who was getting called out for his statements. Adam22, the host of the No Jumper podcast, also received backlash for giving the rapper a public platform. Many were curious to know why the rapper was being interviewed.

“Why are they even interviewing him anyway,” an X user said.
“He wants to be tough so bad and he’s ruining the little that’s left off his life,” a platform user stated.
“This host is irresponsible on selecting this individual for an interview,” a netizen stated.

“It was a robbery”: Blockstar reveals that Pop Smoke was killed during a robbery

In the interview, Blockstar also clarified that the 20-year-old rapper was killed during a planned robbery. He said that it was a robbery and that no one had sent them, adding that rumors about the incident were "all false information."

“It was a robbery. Nobody sent us. Nobody did none of that. That’s all false information,” the rapper told Adam22.

He claimed that neither he nor his co-defendants had any intention of killing Pop Smoke. He added that he did not expect people to be in the residence at the time of the robbery. Blockstar went on to say that they had no intentions of hurting anyone and that they were "just kids being kids—kids from the hood."

“We were just kids being kids- kids from the hood. There was too much movement, too much going on. It wasn’t intentional,” the rapper said.
