Singer Barbra Streisand recently shared her take on Donald Trump's viral Truth Social post claiming he hates Taylor Swift. The former President's post had come after Swift took to Instagram to endorse his opponents Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for the 2024 Presidential elections.

On September 17, Barbra Streisand took to X to condemn Trump for his comments about Taylor Swift and wrote:

"When Trump posts something as silly as I hate Taylor Swift, he sounds like a young woman who couldn’t get tickets to her show. But he is an immature and vengeful 78 year old man who should not ever become president of the United States."

On September 15, Donald Trump lashed out at Taylor Swift on Truth Social after she endorsed Kamala Harris over him on social media.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!,” Trump said.

In her post endorsing Harris and Walz, Swift explained her reasons behind choosing to vote for the Democratic candidates and also condemned the use of AI to falsely claim her support for Trump. Swift's post came after Donald Trump shared AI-generated images of the popstar appearing to be supporting him in the elections.

"Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation," Swift wrote on Instagram.
"It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth. I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election."

Alongside her endorsement of Harris, Taylor Swift shared an Instagram story linking it to the US government's Vote.gov website. As per Variety, more than 400,000 users clicked on the link via her story within 24 hours.

"She’ll probably pay a price for it" — When Donald Trump claimed he is not a Taylor Swift fan

Aside from taking to Truth Social, Donald Trump was also vocal about not being a fan of Swift in a statement to Fox and Friends. After the popstar endorsed Harris, the Republican nominee told the outlet:

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time… she’s a very liberal person, she seems to always endorse a Democrat and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

The MAGA leader's running mate, JD Vance, also took shots at Swift after she made her political stance clear. In a September 11 interview with Fox News, JD Vance addressed Swift's endorsement of their opponents and said:

“We admire Taylor Swift’s music. But I don’t think most Americans — whether they like her music, are fans of hers or not — are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity, who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans."
"When grocery prices go up by 20%, it hurts most Americans. It doesn’t hurt Swift. When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn’t affect Swift or any other billionaire," he added.

Vance's comments were in response to Swift taking a dig at him in her Instagram post supporting Harris. In Swift's post, the singer had signed off as "childless cat lady," taking a clear dig at JD Vance's earlier use of the phrase in a supposed misogynistic light.

Trump's running mate had used the phrase in a derogatory tone in 2021 to refer to Kamala Harris and other women Democrats. The term has a sexist undertone, as it has been used to mock women who cannot/do not have children or thus own cats to deal with their loneliness.
