Sean "Diddy" Combs again submitted a proposal for release from pre-trial detention. On Friday, November 8, 2024, the rapper's legal team filed a proposal offering "an extremely substantial, comprehensive bail package" in hopes that he would be freed, despite his previous attempts being denied.

According to USA Today's report on November 8, citing the court documents, Combs' attorneys added more conditions to their previous $50 million bond proposal to prove he was not a flight risk. These included house arrest with GPS monitoring, no access to phones or the internet, and limited contact, among others.

As news of Diddy's latest bail proposal went viral, internet users were quick to react under the shade room's Instagram post. One user quipped:

Diddy was previously denied bail on 3 separate occasions

Federal officers arrested Diddy in September on charges of racketeering, s*x trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Since then, the rapper has unsuccessfully attempted to get bail on 3 separate occasions.

According to USA Today, the new bail proposal argues that the music mogul is not a flight risk. It stated that he was not a danger to society, reasoning that the government lacked substantial evidence to support its claims.

The legal document also claimed that Combs' detention hindered his legal counsel from making trial preparations. It elaborated that it was due to the inconsistent access between the rapper and his lawyers and the evidence being presented in the case.

According to an October 2024 article by the Economic Times, just immediately after his arrest, Diddy and his team requested bail. But U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky declined, siding with prosecutors who claimed the rapper posed a potential flight risk if released to home detention. Following Day, a separate judge denied a similar request, citing witness tampering.

Combs' lawyer filed a third appeal in September, stating that he was a father of 7, a U.S. citizen, and popular both domestically and internationally. Thus, he reportedly posed no flight risk, as he is unlikely to flee. Additionally, a bond of $50 million was offered with 24/7 monitoring.

Moreover, restrictions on phone and internet access, the number of approved visitors, and surrendering passports of Diddy and his family were proposed.

The new filing builds on the previous appeal, with additional provisions of 24/7 monitoring by approved security personnel (both Combs and his family) and zero internet or phone access (excluding his meetings with his legal counsel).

Diddy's proposal stated that he would be detained at his $48 million Miami home or any suitable location in New York. Additionally, the rapper would be subjected to random testing for prohibited substances.

Since then, the rapper has denied all allegations levied against him. He is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial is set to begin in May 2025.
