Ben Stiller recently revealed that Euphoria was his favorite Kendrick Lamar song through a tweet shared on September 9. The response came after a netizen asked him the same question. This brief conversation happened shortly after Kendrick Lamar was chosen as the performer for the Super Bowl halftime show, expected to be held in February 2025.
Meanwhile, several netizens noticed the comment made by Ben Stiller and flooded the internet with their reactions. With one fan writing:
"He not like us"
Here are some of the responses made on X, formerly known as Twitter:
"'Wow, Ben Stiller and Kendrick Lamar—talk about a surprising mix! If Stiller's halftime show is half as memorable as that song choice, we're in for a wild ride!'" a netizen tweeted.
"Oh he spilled and has taste. Real ones know euphoria washes every song to come outta that beef," added another one.
"Euphoria is such a vibe. can't wait for the halftime show now, it's gonna be lit 🔥," commented a netizen.
A lot of other netizens agreed with Stiller's comment and further expressed excitement about Lamar's upcoming performance. Some, on the other hand, claimed that Stiller's choice of the song implied that he wasn't a real fan of Lamar. One user wrote:
"Lmao... cause he never heard of kendrick before the beef 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️."
"Ben doesn’t know who Kendrick is 🤣 His PR guy tweeting," wrote another netizen.
"He was forced," tweeted a user on X.
For the unversed, Euphoria was the first diss track by Kendrick Lamar aiming at Drake, after the latter released tracks like Taylor Made Freestyle and Push Ups in April 2024.
Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner for Super Bowl 2025
Zoolander actor Ben Stiller recently weighed in on his most liked song by Kendrick Lamar. After the actor chose a song that came out during the much popular beef between Lamar and Drake, netizens speculated that this was him choosing a side between the two rappers.
Meanwhile, on September 8, Lamar was announced as the performer for the Super Bowl halftime show which is set to take place in New Orleans, in February 2025. The decision to have him headline the event, however, soon became controversial with even artists coming forward to criticize it. Nicki Minaj directly bashed Jay-Z for the decision of choosing Lamar over Lil Wayne, who is a native of New Orleans.
It was, however, confirmed that the performers were always chosen by the host city and not by Jay-Z or anybody else. The NFL had the responsibility of coming up with a list of potential performers, but the decision was left to the city. In the meantime, Jay-Z spoke to Complex about the involvement of Lamar in the music industry and said:
"Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come."
It is worth noting that the NFL has always preferred artists who had a huge audience. Also, most artists who had previously performed at the event didn't get a chance to do it more than once.
