As the world mourns the tragic death of Liam Payne, fans online discussed his final Snapchat stories shared an hour before his death. On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the former One Direction singer met his untimely death after a fatal fall from the balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
An hour before the news of his death broke, Payne shared stories from his trip to Argentina with his influencer girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. It included a video of them at a hotel, enjoying breakfast.
"It’s a lovely day here in Argentina," the singer said in the video.

However, Liam Payne's Snapchat stories have since been taken down, much to the confusion of his fans. Many have commented about the reason behind deleting the stories, with one saying:
Some questioned why it was deleted if it was harmless.

"Watched his Snapchat story yesterday, had no idea I was watching a soon to be dead man," another remarked.
Others offered possible explanations, like someone posting on Liam Payne's behalf or the stories being scheduled in advance.
"Celebrities that post on Snapchat isn’t actually them posting it’s their teams," a fan explained.
"FYI: Celebs often post their vacay vids after they’ve already left that specific location, so that fans or stalkers don’t show up to bother them…. That explains why these posts seem like a different place from where he had died," @Sye_Lokata added.

Liam Payne started the video by wishing his followers a good morning and showing him and Kate Cassidy sitting at the breakfast table looking happy. He jokingly called out his girlfriend for leaving a cap on the table, saying:

Panning to the grassy backyard and showing a beautiful sunny day with blue skies, he explained:
"It’s a lovely day here in Argentina. This is the breakfast table. Just enjoying coffee and breakfast even though it’s 1 p.m."
Kate then explained that they slept in until 12, quipping that they were such "losers." This prompted Liam to say, "No."
Some of the singer's other stories included pictures taken around their hotel, showing off the beautiful property and delicious food. There were pictures of the pair enjoying their time together. Payne's final photo was a mirror selfie of him and Cassidy in their swimsuits.
It remains unclear when the videos and photos from the stories were taken. However, Just Jared on Wednesday reported that Cassidy flew back to her hometown in Florida days earlier. The publication said she continued to post videos and photos from Argentina until two days ago. This also included a picture of her flying back.
Liam Payne and Kate Cassidy began dating in October 2022. The couple headed to Argentina earlier this month to attend his former 1D bandmate Niall Horan's concert in Buenos Aires.
Cassidy has not publicly commented on Liam Payne's death. The singer is survived by his son, Bear, whom he shares with singer Cheryl Cole.
