Cardi B took to X on July 28, 2024, to criticize the former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, who in his recent speech promised police officers federal immunity from prosecution.

Donald Trump, who is one of the candidates for the Presidential elections to be held in November 2024, has garnered massive backlash, as his comments come in just after the alleged killing of Sonya Massey by a police officer in her home in Illinois.

For the same reason, Cardi B also criticized Trump, as she reposted the video of his speech, and wrote in the post:

“AFTER WATCHING SONYA MASSEY GET KILLED IN 4K …..just wow ….he never changed.”

The tragic incident with Sonya Massey took place on July 6, 2024, after she called 911 to report an alleged intruder. However, as the police officers made their way into her residence in Illinois, the Illinois Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson allegedly shot multiple times and killed Sonya. Grayson has since been fired and now faces multiple charges.

“You don’t feel one little bit of empathy”— Cardi B’s statement on Candace Owen’s post revisited as rapper talks about Sonya Massey’s killing

Cardi B created headlines after she lashed out at Donald Trump for promising police officers federal immunity from prosecution. The statement came weeks after the Sonya Massey case took place in Illinois.

However, this is not the first time that Cardi B has spoken up on the Sonya Massey killing, as last week, she responded to a tweet made by Candace Owens, where Owens stated that the killing was “not racially motivated.” Slamming Owens’ thoughts, Cardi B stated:

“You don’t feel one little bit of empathy, a little bit of sympathy of how this woman died? There was no argument, there was no conflict, there was no raised voice, and she got shot. He knew in the back of his head because she was a Black woman that he was going to get away with it."

This is not the first time that Cardi B has spoken up against Donald Trump, as she took to X on July 27, 2024, and reacted to Donald Trump’s statement about how Christians “won’t have to vote after 2024.” Sharing the video of Trump saying the same, Cardi B said:

“Whistle blowing a dictatorship?”

As the Bodak Yellow singer posted her thoughts on Trump’s promise during his speech for the Presidential elections, many social media users seemed to agree with her, especially because of the bodycam footage released, which allegedly shows how the police officer killed Massey after a brief argument.

As per the bodycam footage, the argument reportedly between Sonya and Sean took place due to a pot of boiling water, as the officer repeatedly asked her to put down the pot, while they were searching the house. The footage shows the police officers entering Sonya’s premises upon her calling, and searching the place.

However, as the argument takes place, Grayson is allegedly seen taking out his pistol and firing shots at Sonya, leaving her dead in her own house. While Grayson has now been arrested and fired from his post, he pleaded not guilty to the charges being put on him.
