Rapper Joe Budden recently discussed Kendrick Lamar and SZA's joint tour announcement on his December 4 podcast. According to his team, Lamar is one of the few rappers who can successfully pull off a stadium tour.

On the podcast, they started debating about who else could pull something off like this. Among other celebrities, they mentioned Kanye West, Travis Scott, and Eminem. However, they chose not to use Drake’s name since one of the co-hosts claimed he was allegedly incapable of doing so.

Nevertheless, Joe Budden defended Drake. He then said that despite Drake's approach, he had no interest in working with him. While citing the reason behind this, he said:

“It's not the type of record I wanted to make with him. I want him to tap into his rap band… I wasn't chasing hits at that point in my career.. My career was rap sh*t. He's just growing up…”

He continued:

“There's no ideology change, man… He the one who offered it..”

The podcast came after Kendrick Lamar and SZA announced the Grand National Tour. April marks the start of his North American stadium tour, which will last until June. SZA and Lamar shared a long relationship as the former appeared in two of the rapper’s GNX tracks, Luther and Gloria.

As per Hot New Hip Hop's December 4 article, over the years, Drake and Joe Budden have frequently dissed one another in songs. Despite this, they almost worked together twice. During his recent December 4 podcast episode, Budden discussed J Cole's podcast and that Drake was requested to provide Cole with a hit for his debut album.

After talking about the effects of a Drake feature, Joe Budden revealed to his co-hosts that he came very close to recording with the 6 God twice. The first time was when Drizzy was still releasing mixtapes in 2006. However, things allegedly didn't work out.

Joe Budden claimed he again connected with Drake and spoke about working together on a single. Speaking about the same, one of the co-hosts alleged that Drake reportedly previously claimed that Joe Budden was very harsh with him. Another co-host responded by speculating that Drake might be envious of Joe.

He further said:

“I think.. Drake might think Joe is hard on him because he likes what he said in the war record… It's out of jealousy. He's pretty jealous...

Imitating Drake and talking about what he must have thought, he continued:

“Like I'm better than you. I rap better than you, like basically who you are.. It's almost like my Joe's DNA is in his paws… it is just in terms of the type of rapper, type of rap styles that he does..”

He then added:

“Yet Drake has achieved a level of success in rap that Joe never touched… So he might look at it as if you're just envious. It's what people now… achieve… The level of success..”
