On Sunday, July 7, Lil Wayne conducted a live session on Instagram and claimed that GloRilla was the only celebrity who spoke to him at billionaire Michael Rubin’s famous Fourth of July all-white Hamptons party. Lil Wayne revealed that he had an “unforgettable” experience at the recent event and said that GloRilla was the "only person" who came up to him.

“Shoutout to Glo. GloRilla was the only person that came up to me and really hollered at me. You feel me?” he said.

Several netizens took note of this as Drake was at the party as well, and wondered why GloRilla was the only artist who interacted with the rapper.

"Lil Wayne the whole reason Drake is relevant," a netizen said.
"Drake got a problem with Wayne?" an X user wondered.
“Wow, so Drake was there and didn’t even say what’s up? Wow,” a netizen said.

Netizens found it hard to believe that no other celebrities acknowledged Lil Wayne at the event. They were also curious about Drake and the rapper's dynamic considering the duo's history.

“You ALWAYS show love and respect to the ones that put you on. Always,” an X user said.
“Not Like Us Remix feat. Lil Wayne coming soon,” another internet user said.
“Wayne bout to hop on the Not like us remix,” an internet user wrote.

GloRilla reacted to a clip of the rapper speaking about her during his Instagram live and called him her favorite rapper of all time. X users hailed her for interacting with him at the event and said she was a "real one."

"Because she's humble and a real one. That's why my gurl winning like crazy right now! Genuine people still exists in the industry," a fan said.
“Real recognize real,” a netizen wrote.

The rapper also mentioned that Tom Brady spoke to him and he complimented the athlete for his outfit. Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., performed hit singles Steady Mobbin, Lollipop, and more at the event.

More about Drake and Lil Wayne

With the recent rap battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, netizens have been curious about whose side other rappers are taking. Fans began to believe that Wayne was on K. Dot’s team after the Humble crooner alleged in his Not Like Us Drake-diss track that Drake got into a relationship with Lil Wayne’s girlfriend while Wayne was doing time in prison.

“Fu*ked on Wayne girl while he was in jail that’s connivin’/ Then get his face tatted like a b**ch apologizin,” Kendrick said.

Wayne seemingly referred to this in a 2016 HipHollywood interview, where he said:

“Oh! I wasn’t worried about that, that’s just how life goes when you locked up”
