Travis Scott was recently arrested and then released on bail
Travis Scott, an American rapper and singer-songwriter, is presently taking a break before continuing his "Circus Maximus" tour in Europe. The tour began last year in North America. The next date of the tour is June 28, in the Netherlands.
It will continue through August 4 in Portugal and end in September in Brazil. The tour supports his first album in five years, Utopia, which came out last summer.
However, he recently made the news after being taken into custody in Miami following a supposed incident at a marina. At the time of the arrest, Travis Scott was reportedly on a rented yacht in Miami Beach, as reported by Sheldon Fox of Fox 7 News in Miami.
USA Today stated that the police were called to a disturbance aboard one boat, where individuals were fighting on board. Officers stated they saw Scott ranting to the people inside the boat while standing at the pier.
The rapper "began continuously standing back up," defying orders to sit down. The police further said that his breath had a distinct alcohol smell when they spoke with him.
According to Fox, Scott "was drunk, causing a disturbance, and asked to leave multiple times," Miami Beach Police said they arrested him on the two offenses after he refused to leave.
“He was drunk, causing a disturbance and asked to leave multiple times."
They continued,
“Scott became irate, screaming profanities, left and returned to disturb some more.”
Rolling Stone reported the encounter was "a minor incident akin to receiving a ticket with no injuries." Reportedly, no physical altercation took place and after the rapper made bail, the case was closed.
The same source further reported that he had to pay $500 and $150 on the charges, respectively, and then released on bond.
More information regarding the incident is not public yet. Neither Scott nor his representatives have commented on his arrest.
