On January 26, rapper Snoop Dogg shared a message about being criticized for performing at Trump's inaugural ball on January 17. He aimed the message at people he claimed have been spreading hate towards him and other black rappers.

He posted his thoughts on Instagram stories and talking about the same, he said:

“It’s Sunday man, I got gospel in my heart. For all that hate, I’m going to answer with love. Y’all can’t hate enough on me. I love too much. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool, I’m together. Still a Black man, still 100 percent Black.”

He spoke about how easily individuals can turn against one another, particularly in the Black community. Stating the same, he added:

“We got to learn to pick each other up instead of pulling each other down. That’s what we great at as Black people. We great at tearing each other down. You could be up one minute and they’ll try to pull you down the next..”

Snoop, who previously criticized artists for playing at events like Crypto Ball, has come under fire for doing the same. Once his video was uploaded on Instagram, it went viral.

Netizens took to the comment section of a post about the rapper's above-mentioned video and called him out for being a "sell out". One person remarked that even though the rapper claimed that he was alright, he was “definitely bothered” by all the criticism.

Snoop Dogg recently came under fire for his performance at Trump's Inaugural Crypto Ball on Friday, January 17 as he had earlier labeled Trump a "racist". He indirectly responded to the criticism by saying that he would "beat hate with love".

In a 2017 video, Snoop Dogg had criticized the performers at Trump's inaugural events. He also used a Trump impersonator wearing clown makeup in his 2017 music video for the song Lavender.

In one scene, the rapper pulls the trigger while pointing at the impersonator, revealing a flag that reads "Bang." Trump then reportedly turned to X to voice his displeasure with Snoop Dogg's music video, writing:

“Can you imagine the outcry if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!”

Last year, the rapper changed his mind on Donald Trump. After years of harsh criticism, he claimed that he has "nothing but love and respect" for Trump.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Snoop Dogg praised Trump, pointing out that he had pardoned Michael "Harry-O" Harris, the co-founder of Death Row Records, who was serving a 25-year life sentence for drug trafficking and attempted murder. Snoop was signed to Death Row in 1993 and in 2022, he acquired the label’s catalog.

The rapper said, “Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.”

On the other hand, apart from Snoop Dog, other Black performers to perform at Trump’s Crypto Ball were Rick Ross and Soulja Boy.
