A former Nicki Minaj fan filed a $5 million lawsuit against her on August 25, 2024, at Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing her of causing emotional distress and public humiliation. The man, named Tameer Peak, alleged that Nicki Minaj called him a “mentally unstable stalker” during one of her live social media sessions.
As per the court documents obtained by TMZ, Peak claimed that in 2017, Minaj underwent her "Nicki hate train" phase, and accused him of being a "paid mole sent to sabotage her." The lawsuit also listed a few occasions when the singer reportedly harassed the plaintiff.
In the wake of these now-viral accusations, netizens and Nicki Minaj fans had varied reactions, with many calling Tameer a "stalker." They took to commenting on The Shade Room's post on the same, with one person claiming that Beyoncé had also blocked Tameer.
“Why didn’t y’all add ‘Stalker,’ ‘cause that’s what he is. He’s even blocked by Beyonce,” the user wrote.
Many others shared similar reactions on X claiming that the man went to "almost all her [Minaj's] shows" and was "stalking, recording, and obsessing over her."
“He went to almost all her shows and pops up everywhere outside she be at… sounds like stalking to me,” a person wrote.
“He was at every gag city show… stalking her… recording her… obsessing over her… omg this is too much. what has this fanbase come to???” one person wrote.
Others pointed out that Tameer Peak may face a countersuit from Nicki Minaj for his false accusations and publicly following her around.
“This was dumb? Lmao that countersuit gon be a muf*cka.. bcus not only was he at EVERY tour show, there’s SEVERAL videos of him also standing outside the arena WAITING for Nicki Minaj to drive by? And he talks about her 24/7 online, Which is honestly a form of stalking,” a netizen wrote.
“He went to almost every gagcity show… that countersuit bout to be NASTY!” one netizen wrote.
“@NICKIMINAJ needs to counter-sue for 20 million dollars for alleged malicious stalking and abuse. Serious mental health challenges like antisocial personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, OCD, and even borderline personality disorder often fuel stalkers,” another netizen wrote.
Others claimed that the former fan’s lawsuit itself was proof that he was a “paid mole," referring to what he had said in his lawsuit.
“Ladies & Gentlemen…The Paid Mole,” an individual wrote.
“His actions ARE and HAS BEEN 100% CALCULATED. the REAL PAID MOLE,” another individual wrote.
Nicki Minaj’s attorney denied all the accusations in the lawsuit
A man named Tameer Peak sued Nicki Minaj on Sunday, August 25, 2024, for $5 million in damages for “reputational harm” and “financial loss.” He accused her of harassment, humiliation, and emotional distress. The former fan claimed that he has been a Nicki Minaj fan for over 15 years and helped promote her 2023 album, Pink Friday 2.
The plaintiff alleged that on one occasion, the rapper invited him to her hotel and “embarrassed” him in front of at least 100,000 people on her Instagram Live. He claimed that Instagram Live reportedly made him a victim of long-drawn online ridicule.
Tameer Peak also claimed that during a Super Bowl LIV weekend event in 2020, Nicki Minaj’s now-estranged husband Kenneth Petty “battered” him. He added that she reportedly sent him a DM referring to the incident.
The former fan also alleged that the matter went further south in 2024 when fans of the Anaconda rapper asked him to “stop saying dumb sh*t,” thus damaging his reputation. The civil suit claimed that during many of her Station-head sessions on X, Minaj herself “bullied” him by questioning his intellectual capacity, reportedly calling him a “full basket” case.
As per the plaintiff, Nicki even claimed during her Live interaction that Tameer Peak was dependent on the government for his welfare and received regular checks for maintenance. The ex-fan alleged that the Heavy On It Records founder labeled him a “stalker,” accusing him of impersonating members of her team.
In response to the allegations, the rapper’s attorney, Judd Burstein, exclusively told TMZ that Peak had been harassing Nicki "on social media for years" to no avail.
“Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail. He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims,” Burstein said.
The lawyer added how the plaintiff would regret having “gone down this disreputable road” and would be compelled to pay Nicki Minaj’s “legal fees” as per Californian law.
