Baby Keem recently reposted an X post that mocked Kendrick Lamar for disappearing "after the bus passes." The original post said:
“Kendrick the type of n**** to disappear after the bus passes”
Fans took to X after Keem reposted the aforementioned post, alleging that it was talking about Lamar losing relevance after his feud with Drake was over earlier this year. Here are some reactions:
"He’s nothing without Drake."
"Kendrick leaving his fans starving Marvin," another fan added.
"Kendrick’s ghost writer’s recent retweet about Kendrick Lamar 💀 Fix it for you," another user chimed in.
"Kendrick’s teams been pretty active lately 👀," an individual opined.
"LMAOOOOO if this means kendrick is someone who loves being off the media then he is totally right," a user commented.
The reactions continued to come in, with others saying:
"baby keem disappeared for longer than Kendrick atp," a fan wrote.
"tell them both to DROP," another fan mentioned.
"sounds like Kendrick has some mysterious moves," an X user alleged.
"I hate how every little thing these “blogs” feel they have to make a story out of," an individual added.
Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar are cousins and first collaborated on Keem's track, Family Ties, from his debut album, The Melodic Blue (2021).
Baby Keem did not perform in Kendrick Lamar's June Nineteenth Pop Out Show
On June 19, 2024, Kendrick Lamar hosted the 'The Pop Out: Ken and Friends' show at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
The event was a celebration of West Coast rappers and saw multiple big names join Lamar on stage during various performances. Some of these artists were Dr. Dre, Roddy Ricch, Dom Kennedy, the Creator, and Steve Lacy.
However, to the surprise of many, Lamar's cousin Baby Keem did not join the rapper on stage for a performance. Many expected the duo to get together on stage to perform Keem's track, Family Ties, as it marked their first collaboration.
However, Keem reportedly attended Lamar's Pop Out show according to images shared by RDCWorld's Mark Phillips. Phillips shared images of himself with both Lamar and Keem, which he claimed were taken during the concert on June 19.
Being cousins, Kendrick Lamar and Keem have been working together for a while, although their first official collaboration track came in 2021. Earlier, Baby Keem was credited for writing and producing the track Redemption Interlude in Lamar's 2018 Black Panther soundtrack.
In March 2020, Keem signed with Lamar and Dave's Free's label, pgLang, and released his debut album in 2021. For his first collaboration track with Lamar, Baby Keem received a 2022 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance.
Keem was also a part of K Dot's 2022 album, Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. The rapper collaborated with his cousin on three tracks. Keem co-wrote and produced the track N95, collaborated on Savior and Savior (Interlude), and co-produced Die Hard.
Keem also accompanied Lamar on the Big Steppers Tour between June 2022 and March 2024. The duo also appeared together in the 2022 Coachella and Glastonbury festivals. During the Big Steppers Tour, Lamar referred to Baby Keem as a "musical genius" on X.
In May 2023, Keem and Lamar together released a surprise track called The Hillbillies.
