In a recent interview with Ray Daniels, LL Cool J opened up about his most challenging opponent, which was Canibus. Stating how it was “difficult,” LL Cool J said:

“I would say out of all of them, probably Canibus because he was a pain in the a*s. I was a little more disconnected so it made it way more difficult."

He added,

"It’s like one of them Rocky movies when he’s driving through the tunnel with the f**king Rolls-Royce and he’s having flashbacks and sh*t, you got this Mr. T mut*afu*ka over here rapping out the basement. That was the vibe.”

He continued:

“He’s rapping in my ears, biting at my calf muscles, over here doing sitcoms and sh*t. I’m like, ‘Yo, this sh*t is crazy right now!’ This muthafucka fu*king with me, bothering me in the middle of the night. Our culture is crazy ’cause they won’t leave you alone about this sh*t. What you gonna do about your man?’ You just gotta deal with this shit, right? So I would say Canibus.”

He concluded his statement by claiming that he wishes “him the best,” and does not wish any ill for him, despite the duo’s infamous feud in the late 1990s, which erupted after Canibus took a dig at LL Cool J in his song, 4,3,2,1.

In his song, Canibus mocked LL Cool J’s microphone tattoo: Details about their 1997 feud explored

As LL Cool J mentioned Canibus’ name in his interview with Ray Daniels, many on the internet recalled his infamous feud, after Canibus rapped about the microphone tattoo on his bicep. In the song, 4,3,2,1 featuring Redman, Method Man, and DMX, he raps:

“Yo Method, where the gods at? Redman, where the Squad at? Yo L, is that a mic on your arm? Let me borrow that.”

However, LL Cool J was seemingly upset with the lyrics, which then made Canibus change the lyrics of his song. However, LL made sure to respond to the bashing lyrics in the song, and rapped:

“When young sons fantasize of borrowing flows. Tell little Shorty with the big mouth the bank is closed. The symbol on my arm is off limits to challengers. You hold the rusty swords, I swing the Excalibur.”

LL Cool J, born in 1968 is popular for his albums, Bigger and Deffer, Walking with a Panther, Mama Said Knock You Out, Mr. Smith, Phenomenon, and Exit 13. Apart from this, he has also appeared in many movies like Wildcats, Out of Sync, Caught Up, Woo, Deep Blue Sea, Charlie’s Angels, S.W.A.T. and even Grudge Match.
