Post Malone appeared for an interview with Theo Von on September 4, 2024, where while covering a variety of topics during the conversation, Malone also spoke about Young Thug. The singer described Thug as his favorite lyricist and melody maker of all time. On Von's This Past Weekend podcast, he also spoke about his latest studio album F-1 Trillion.
Post Malone said:
"Young Thug for me is my favorite lyricist and melody maker of all f*cking time. I remember when he, the first song I heard was that it was him and Peewee Longway. It's a song called Loaded... These melodies like insane..."
Meanwhile, several netizens took notice of Malone's praise and expressed their thoughts and opinions on social media platforms. Here are some of the tweets talking about this matter:
A netizen wrote:
"Nobody gets praised by their peers on the level that Thug gets praised… and they were doing it while he was free so it ain’t fake love..."
"Loaded is not a song I would have expected post Malone to know lmao," added a tweet.
"Just watched this and it made me so happy! ♥️," mentioned another user.
Several other netizens, however, didn't completely agree with Malone's statement and shared that calling Young Thug a lyricist is a far stretch.
"Lyricist?? i mean thug is in my top 5 but lyricist?????😭😭😭😭," a user tweeted.
"He knows his stuff but lyricist? LYRICIST????" an user added a tweet.
"Lyricist is crazy but in terms of free flow and melody I’m there with you," commented a user.
Post Malone revealed writing another song with Morgan Wallen
As mentioned, Malone spoke to Theo on several topics including his collaborations, and further talked about doing a song with Morgan Wallen, titled I Had Some Help. The song was further quite a successful one with it securing its place on the Billboard’s 2024 Song of the Summer. Additionally, the host asked Malone about his experience of writing the song.
Malone spoke about Wallen and said,
"[Morgan Wallen’s] amazing…we wrote [‘I Had Some Help’] together. We cut another song too. I think I remember doing a verse, it was one of those long nights! That song’s awesome, too."
Elsewhere in the interview, Post Malone revealed the possibility of conducting a European tour soon. However, no additional details have been found as of now. He spoke about the F-1 Trillion tour, which is set to begin on September 8 in Utah. Musical band Muscadine Bloodline is also reported to be a part of the tour.
On September 4, Muscadine Bloodline announced that they would be suspending their upcoming fall shows after they received a call to open for Malone‘s upcoming tour. On their social media page, they said:
"We got a curve ball of a life-changing call this morning and Post Malone just offered us to be direct support on the F-1 trillion tour. We’re talking Nissan Stadium, Fenway Park, arenas and amphitheaters across the country..."
As of now, fans are excited to witness the upcoming tour of Malone.
