Lil Baby is seemingly gearing up for major album releases next year after reportedly confirming the official titles and release dates for two new LPs while appearing on Lil Yachty's podcast.
The Atlanta rapper appeared as a guest on Yachty's "A Safe Place Podcast" today (December 19) for an exclusive interview in which he got personal about his life, legacy, upcoming albums, plans for 2025, and more.
Fans were thrilled after Baby announced WHAM will be dropping early next year, with a confirmed release date set for January 3, 2025. The rapper also cited working on a "completely different project" titled Dominique, which he explains as an LP where he gets more personal about his life.
Baby also stated that Dominique would be released shortly after WHAM hits streaming platforms, suggesting a February 2025 release date. He went on to describe the difference between both projects, explaining:
"The crazy thing is, I still put some of the songs I was gonna use for Dominique on WHAM... But I feel WHAM is more like me on some young n***a sh*t. Fast cars, girls, jewelry, money, you know, like that turnt lifestyle. Dominique is more like the serious me. More personal"
With popular media houses like NFR Podcast re-posting clips of Baby confirming two new projects for early 2025, fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts on the BAND4BAND rapper's latest announcement.
One user was seen comparing Lil Baby's decision to release multiple projects in 2025 to rappers like Future, who released three chart-topping albums this year, two of which included his collaborations with Metro Boomin.
More reactions followed with users sharing their opinions on the oncoming release of WHAM and Dominique.
"W but I'd say wait a couple months before Dominique," a user cited.
"N***a dropping 2 back-to-back albums on back-to-back months I think he really needs to sit and think about the decision he wants to make," said another.
"Sounds like the label wants Wham album. And he artistically wants to drop Dominque but the label [wants] to release Wham first," a user claimed.
Lil Baby fans were seen praising the artist for planning on dropping multiple projects next year.
"Album of the year Jan 3rd, then Dominique will be special," a fan stated.
"Dude I will say it again Lil Baby’s run in 2020 was generational if he makes a comeback it’s gonna be generational," a fan explained.
"Getting excited for 2 Lil Baby albums in 2025," another cited.
Individuals were seen critiquing the rapper as well, with users claiming both albums will sound the "same".
"Both gonna sound the same — just release one as a deluxe," a critic stated.
"Hope I’m wrong but watch both albums sound the same or not differ from one another," a user hoped.
"I'm no expert but if the complaint about your music is that you never switch it up and your music doesn't mean anything, wouldn't it make more sense to drop Dominique before Wham as a palette cleanser," an individual suggests.
