American comedian and television host Nick Cannon voiced his opinion about the recently unfolded fiasco between Diddy and his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Diddy (real name Sean John Combs) drew a lot of flak on social media after CNN released a video of him physically assaulting and beating up his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

In an interview with The Pivot published on June 16, the 43-year-old discussed the barrage of harassment allegations filed against Diddy over the last few months and talked about reflecting on one's actions and the value of remorse. Nick Cannon believed that people should be given the option to make up for their past mistakes as long as they are truly remorseful.

He described the 'heinous and monstrous' energy of Diddy in the video as a symbol of his troubled conscience and inferred that he was working through some demons in his mind.

"The heinous and monstrous, you know, energy of what we saw in that video with Diddy. It is like, man, that brother is troubled. That brother got demons," commented Nick.

Diddy's ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, accused the 54-year-old of s*x trafficking, r*pe, and s*xual abuse in a lawsuit filed against him in November 2023. However, the case was settled out of court a day later.

In the case, Cassie Ventura alleged that Sean Combs 'took control' of her personal and professional life by incessantly forcing her to consume drugs and physically abusing her. According to her, Diddy forced her into 'unwanted s*xual encounters' and also r*ped her in 2018.

At the same time, CNN released CCTV footage of Diddy on May 17, 2024. It featured Diddy physically abusing Ventura and beating her up at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. The clip also showed Diddy chasing her down the hallway and beating her up.

Television personality Nick Cannon recently discussed Diddy's allegations and advocated giving second chances to people who have truly atoned for their actions.

"Who are we as men to be able to judge at some level that we can throw another human being away? It's like everybody has the opportunity for, you know, reconciliation and atonement. It's just if you're really willing to put the work in," Nick Cannon explained.

He elaborated on this opinion and explained that he doesn't judge Diddy for his actions because he isn't aware of the demons the latter was struggling with while he did those 'heinous' activities.

""With all of those relationships that I had, its like, I can't judge that man, you know. I don't know what demons he's struggling with. I don't know what he's going through, but it's not my job to throw that person away," declared Nick Cannon.

Cannon further stressed mental health and how men of color have to deal with their past traumas. According to the 43-year-old, everyone deals with their mental demons and he doesn't judge them for it.

"So hopefully, you know, with building the counsel culture community and creating professionals, doctors, and clinicians that can say, you know, we all have problems. We are all dealing with mental wellness. We're all dealing with issues of trauma, and how do we deal with that specifically as black men," concluded Cannon.

Talking specifically about Diddy's leaked video where he was assaulting Cassie, Nick explained that the actions might have been the manifestation of the mental demons that Diddy was fighting against at that time. Moreover, he confided having a conversation with his daughter about Diddy.

"I had to have that conversation with my daughter about like, 'Dad, that's your friend, right,' and I'm like, 'Okay, so I know him. I've befriended him. I don't know that person, and I've never seen that person and I cannot be friends with a person who does that, but all we can do is pray for him"," revealed Nick Cannon.

In an earlier interview on Counsel Culture, the television personality revealed that it was difficult for him to comment on the topic because he was close to both Cassie Ventura and Sean Combs.

"Just as much as I know Diddy, I know Cassie," revealed Nick Cannon.

Nick Cannon talked about R. Kelly's child sexual abuse charges in the same interview

Singer and record producer R. Kelly is currently serving his time in prison for sexual harassment of children. In the interview with The Pivot, Nick Cannon also shared his opinion on R. Kelly's 30-year prison sentence and his crimes.

"We hate to say it, we all know people that are dealing with them same demons that R. Kelly is dealing with, and they are close in our family and we all have our own demons that we try to hide," opined Nick Cannon.

In 2008, R. Kelly was freed from child pornography charges. However, in 2022, the man was arrested for producing child pornography and other charges in the same vertical.

Nick Cannon has called out Kelly in the past in an Instagram post in 2019. The 43-year-old called out the 'darkness in the industry' and accepted that the industry is made up of people who are torchbearers of 'male chauvinistic behavior.'

"And since the recent media outrage pertaining to @RKELLY I have realized that the REAL issue at hand is the ultimate lack of care and disrespect for our QUEENS," he wrote in the caption, calling out R. Kelly in his post.

Nick Cannon and R. Kelly go way back in their dynamic. The two appeared together in Nick Cannon's song Gigolo in 2003.
