Charleston White is creating headlines on social media after a video of his interview went viral. The clip featured the social media star expressing his support for Drake and criticizing Kendrick Lamar at the same time. Notably, Lamar and Drake had a feud earlier this year where they released multiple diss tracks targeting each other.
In the interview video that runs for 17 seconds, a picture of Lamar was shown to White and he replied by saying:
"His music don't touch the souls of the South."
The woman on the other side responded by denying White's claims and White said:
"No it don't. It don't make us move down here. I ain't never heard nobody jump in the car and say hey man bump that Kendrick. I don heard them say bump that Drake."
The comments section of the tweet was flooded with different responses. Users criticized Charleston White, with one of them calling him "compromised and fake." Another person stated that White's opinions are not to be taken seriously, followed by a reaction stating that Lamar's songs have a different kind of audience.
Charleston White had responded to Kendrick Lamar and Drake's feud in the past
Lamar and Drake have not yet responded to the conversation video, but Charleston White had already shared his views on their feud in a June interview with Say Cheese. White criticized Lamar's concert, The Pop Out: Ken & Friends, noting that it did not resolve issues with rival gang members who were also invited to the event.
White even referred to the local artists who performed at the event and said:
"Ain't nobody finna to listen to no up and coming L.A. artists, but L.A. artists in their neighborhood. Don't nobody want to hear that sh*t."
Furthermore, Charleston White claimed that Drake's rapping was better than Lamar's and added:
"I ain't never heard a n*gga in Texas pull up bumping Kendrick's sh*t or nothing. I was just going against the grain. Let's be clear. Kendrick can't compare unless you like twisting your fingers up like the retarded people. That's the only way you gonna like Kendrick, you've got to be retarded."
White also spoke about the upcoming generation of artists, saying that they might not survive in the future because of "gang politics."
Charleston White has grabbed attention for his comments on different incidents
Although Charleston White is famous for his social media presence, he was involved in a lot of legal issues, including that he was sentenced for murder. The charge was linked to an incident where he and his friends entered a Foot Locker store to steal some jackets and a man was shot dead who attempted to stop them.
He has even pursued a career as a motivational speaker and established an organization called Helping Young People Excel which aims to provide education to teens. White acquired his bachelor's degree in the Criminal Justice program from Texas Wesleyan University.
