"Honestly, she deserves it this year" - Internet reacts to Billboard ranking GloRilla at #1 on its 'Hottest Female Rapper of 2024' list

After releasing the list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century, Billboard has now released the list of Hottest Female Rappers of 2024, in which GloRilla has been named number one. Announcing the same on X, Billboard wrote:

“@GloTheofficial is Billboard's hottest female rapper of 2024. After a breakout rookie year filled with hits and a Grammy nomination, GloRilla faced challenges in 2023 but roared back stronger than ever in 2024. With chart-climbing tracks, a headline-worthy tour presence, and co-signs from megastars, she solidified her place as rap’s latest sensation.”

As soon as the news about GloRilla made it to the number one position on the list of Hottest Female Rappers of 2024, social media users began reacting to the news.

An X user, @PopBase, posted about the same on the platform, to which another responded by saying:

“Honestly, she deserves it this year.”

Others also commented ecstatically and said:

“GloRilla is more than Massive,” commented an X user.

“I feel like she made a lot of noise this year. So it’s deserved,” exclaimed one more social media user on the post.

“Deserved. She been on go all year” wrote another.

However, there were others who criticized the decision by the publication and named other rappers who could have been in the number one spot.

“Billboard trying to start sh*t in that industry.....Cardi B at 10....” commented one internet user.

“Doja is better,” added another.

“Honestly, the whole list didnt have anyone that has actual bars,” stated one more.

Latto, Sexxy Red, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion also make it to the top 5 on Billboard’s list of Hottest Female Rappers of 2024

While GloRilla secured the number one position on Billboard’s list, other rappers to secure their place in the top 5 are Megan Thee Stallion at number two, Nicki Minaj at number three, Sexyy Red at number four, and Latto at number five.

Furthermore, other rappers who also made it to the list are Doechii, Doja Cat, JT, Rapsody, and even Cardi B.

As the list was released, GloRilla also reacted to the news by writing on X:

Born in 1999, GloRilla AKA Gloria Hallelujah Woods started her career by releasing a mixtape, Most Likely Up Next in 2019, followed by her EP P Status in 2020. She then became popular after her single, F.N.F (Let’s Go) became a hit, and topped many charts globally.

The rapper released her most recent album, Glorious, in October and it became a massive hit as soon as it was dropped.

As the singer continues to enjoy the success of her album, many songs of the album, like TGIF, topped charts on Billboard’s Hot 100 list. The album also features other artists like Latto, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Kierra Sheard, Megan Thee Stallion and even T-Pain.
