As anticipation mounts for Camila Cabello's upcoming album C,XOXO, one track in particular is already generating significant buzz ft. Drake.

On June 28, 2024, Camila Cabello released HOT UPTOWN, a highly anticipated track featuring the Canadian rapper. The song has sent fans into a frenzy with its infectious beats and catchy lyrics.

Since news of the collaboration broke, fans have taken to X to express their excitement and anticipation for what many call the potential "song of the summer." One fan tweeted:

"Drake really needed Camila Cabello to go back to his prime. HOT UPTOWN is song of the summer material! #CXOXO"

Reactions flooded X, highlighting the power of Camila Cabello and Canadian rapper:

"Camila Cabello and Drake walking out the studio after making "Hot Uptown," one wrote.
"How this new Drake & Camila Cabello got me feeling," another suggested.
"How Camila Cabello and Drake got me feelin," third wrote.

Several others praised their collaboration:

"Oh that drake and camila collab sounds like a smash... it's over," the other wrote.
"The ending is straight gas🔥🔥🔥," another on X.
"They got a summer hit for sure 💯," another wrote.

However, some reflected on the infamous lyrical battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, speculating that the Toronto rapper has responded with HOT UPTOWN:

"Why would Drake respond to Kendrick Lamar's diss on a Camila Cabello album?¿¿???? I'm crying😭😭😭😭," one wrote.

The fan's tweet prompts questions about claims that Drake is addressing Lamar's diss in Camila Cabello's album. However, the feud between the two hip-hop titans began in March 2024 and appeared to conclude by May 2024.

Camila Cabello's fourth studio album, C,XOXO, released this Friday, is a love letter to her home city, Miami. It has 14 tracks, two of which were collaborated with a Canadian rapper.

Before the release of the album and HOT UPTOWN, Cabello revealed to Billboard in May 2024 that she had found a "big baddie energy vibe" for the new album, speculating it to be Drizzy, as she called him "GOAT."

"The voice that I found with my new album has this big baddie energy vibe. Part of that spirit is taking risks, not giving a f*ck and doing whatever you want... the f*cking GOAT, It felt like shooting for the stars," Cabello said.

She further noted that Drizzy had an idea of HOT UPTOWN, and upon hearing the song, she felt like she was in the city, Miami, and the duo connected.

Camila Cabello revealed how she and Drake collaborated for C,XOXO

On June 27, 2024, in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Cabello suggested that it all started with DM exchange. She revealed that she slid into Drizzy's DM and showed her admiration for his songs.

"I actually slid into his DMs too, and I was like, 'I've been listening to you so much for this album,' a lot of the wordplay and my aspiration for bars," Cabello said.

Further talking about themselves, Cabello indicated a strong musical alignment with Drake, emphasizing shared lyrical tastes.

"I feel like, at least from what I know of myself, I feel like we're musically aligned in a lot of ways. I think we have a lot of the same taste, and lyrically as well," Cabello added.

Speaking about HOT UPTOWN, Cabello recalled that when the duo decided to make a song, she shared her part with Drizzy, and then they chopped the track to make it like a duet. Later, when Drizzy shared the outro, in a minute, the duo decided to transform the track into another, and that's how HOT UPTOWN was made.

"I wrote my part. I sent it back to him, and we chopped it to it felt like a duet. And then have it go into this one minute thing where he is talking his sh*t, so we decided to just make it another song," Cabello continued.

The album was released by Geffen and Interscope Records and can be listened to on its official website.
