The Foo Fighters lead singer, Dave Grohl's, shocking announcement has left his fans and social media users stunned. Revealing on Instagram on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Dave came out about his affair outside of his marriage. He wrote:

"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”

The news about Dave Grohl’s affair and the newborn came a few days after he celebrated his 21st anniversary with his present wife, Jordyn Blum. It is worth noting that the couple got married in August 2003; however, years before getting married, Dave called Blum his “future wife.”

The couple met in 2001 at Los Angeles’ Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Dave gave details about their first meeting in an interview with Q Magazine in 2007. At the time, Dave Grohl shared how he was visiting the bar with his bandmate Taylor Hawkins. He claimed that it was Taylor who was the looker and had discovered Jordyn Blum.

However, when Taylor pointed out Blum, Dave stated how he felt that he did not “have a chance” with Jordyn. However, by the end of the evening, he referred to her as her “future wife” and even exchanged phone numbers.

As Dave Grohl revealed how he had an affair outside of his marriage, social media users are revisiting the time the musician shared about his present wife and how they met. In his interview with Q Magazine, Dave Grohl claimed that he had called Blum his “future wife,” as he could not help but stare at her the entire time that evening.

He said:

“So I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jack*ss. And by the end of the night, I was pissed and I was staring at her going, ‘You’re my future ex-wife. So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.’”

On the other hand, Dave has been super vocal about his relationship with Blum, as he then spoke to ELLE in 2007 and stated how in the beginning of their relationship, he realised that he “wasn’t ready for a relationship,” and hence, he “stopped calling.”

He said:

“When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling. After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.’”

Before getting married to Jordyn Blum in 2003, Grohl was married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood. The former couple got married in 1994 and separated in 1997. At the time too, Guardian revealed that the couple had parted ways due to infidelity.

Furthermore, The New York Post also reported that social media users pointed out that soon after Grohl’s announcement, his oldest daughter’s Instagram account was nowhere to be found; however, it is not clear if she deactivated her account before or after Dave’s reveal. Dave and Blum have three daughters, Violet Maye, Harper Willow and Ophelia Sain.
