On September 25, 2024, 50 Cent officially confirmed the release of his long-anticipated documentary on Combs, which he first teased in May 2024. In an exclusive interview with Variety, the rapper stated that the documentary has secured a distribution deal with Netflix. This announcement came shortly after Combs' arrest on September 16, 2024, charged with racketeering, s*x trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The confirmation of 50 Cent's documentary and Diddy's highly publicized arrest have reignited fan interest in the feud between the two hip-hop stars.

The feud between the two rap titans began in 2006 when 50 Cent released a track titled The Bomb. In the song, he accused Sean Diddy Combs of allegedly knowing about the murder of The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace), who was shot in a drive-by on March 9, 1997, in Los Angeles, California.

In The Bomb, 50 Cent explicitly refers to Combs by his former nickname, "Puffy," and insinuates that he knows who was responsible for B.I.G.'s death. The lyrics read:

"Who shot Biggie Smalls? / We don't get 'em / They gon' kill us all / Man Puffy know who hit that ni**a / Man that ni**a soft / He scared them boys from the Westside'll break him off / Dump on his a*s / So he run to Harlem shake 'em off," 50 rapped.

Since then, the two have publicly exchanged jabs through songs and interviews. In 2010, Combs openly criticized the In da Club rapper, referring to him as a "hating a*s crab" after 50 Cent became the manager of Diddy's rival, Rick Ross.

The tension between them resurfaced in 2018 when 50 Cent appeared on Drink Champs and suggested that Diddy often makes bizarre or uncomfortable comments. He recounted incidents where Combs once allegedly offered to shop for him and another time suggested they should go to a party together, implying that these remarks made him uneasy .

"When [Diddy] says things, he doesn't even know what he's saying is, like, fruity. He says to Fabolous, 'Me and you, we need to party. What is you talking about? When people say that to me I get a little uncomfortable," 50 claimed.

In response, Diddy addressed the situation during an interview on The Breakfast Club, claiming that 50 Cent secretly loves him and even "begs" to be friends, adding another layer to their longstanding feud.

"He loves me. Y'all can't see that he loves me? You really think that's hate? You know he loves me," Combs said.

The duo also aimed at each other through their music, with 50 Cent targeting Combs in tracks such as Hip Hop (2007), I Run New York (2005), and My Gun Go Off (2007). On the other hand, Diddy gave indirect shots in songs like Ghost of Christopher Wallace (2010) and Dirty Money's Angels (2009).

Following Diddy's arrest, 50 Cent made numerous remarks on social media. According to Global News, law enforcement reported the discovery of 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricants at Combs' residence, which have been seized. In response, 50 Cent took to X to assert that he is in good company and does not possess 1,000 bottles.

Moreover, on Wednesday, the 49-year-old rapper took to his social media accounts and suggested that he had warned others about questionable behavior associated with "puffy parties," but no one believed him. However, he stated that with the documentary, everyone will believe in him. The documentary's release date is still unknown.
