Lil Wayne recently appeared on The Skip Bayless Show and spoke about his rapport with Kendrick Lamar. He also poured in his initial thoughts about K Dot’s recent release, Wacced Out Murals. Addressing the fact that Kendrick Lamar named Lil Wayne in the song, the rapper claimed that he understands “what Lamar meant.”

Sharing his initial reaction to the song, Lil Wayne stated:

"He's a fan like I'm a fan. He saw like everybody else, he saw how much it meant to me. I think that's all he mean. I understand those words. He made it there... His hard work is the reason he made it there."

He continued by stating how he spoke to Lamar to wish him luck and stated how the rapper asked K Dot to “kill it,” referencing his 2025 Superbowl Halftime performance. The interview with Lil Wayne comes in shortly after Kendrick Lamar released his sixth studio album, GNX, on November 22, 2024, with the song, Wacced Out Murals, having the lyrics:

“Miss my uncle Lil' Mane, he said that he would kill me if I didn't make it. Now I'm possessed by a spirit and they can't take it. Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud. Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.”

“Man wtf I do?!”: Lil Wayne’s tweet revisited as the rapper talks about Kendrick Lamar naming him in his track, “Wacced Out Murals”

Just a day after Kendrick Lamar released the track, Wacced Out Murals, Lil Wayne took notice of his name and instantly tweeted:

“Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love.”

It is worth noting that many social media users speculated that Kendrick Lamar brought in Wayne’s name as the latter expressed his disappointment after K Dot was chosen to perform at the 2025 Super Bowl, which is being held in Wayne’s hometown, New Orleans. For the unversed, Lil Wayne posted on Instagram, shortly after the news about Lamar being selected for the performance came out:

“That hurt. Hurt a lot, you know what I’m talking about, hurt a whole lot. I blamed myself for not being mentally prepared for a let down which is automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blamed myself for that. But I thought that was nothing better than that spot on that stage on that platform in my city. So it hurt.”

He continued:

“It hurt a whole lot. But Y’all are fucking amazing. It made me feel like shit not getting this opportunity and when I felt like shit, you guys reminded me that I ain’t shit without y’all and that’s an amazing reality. So, like I said, it broke me and I’m just trying to put me back together. but my god, where ever you are help me.”

Wacced Out Murals is one of the songs of Lamar’s new album, GNX released on November 22, 2024. In the song, Lamar talks about how a few artists did not support him after the announcement of his performance in 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show. As he named Wayne, he also acknowlelegded the support from Nas, the rapper.
