Lisa Lopes' car crash was allegedly recreated in the music video of How Sweet
The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native died back in 2002 while she went on a trip to Honduras. Lopes was returning to San Pedro Sula in her car, accompanied by her siblings and two producers when she had the accident.

On the other hand, a music video released by South Korean girl group NewJeans for their single How Sweet led to some controversy after its release on May 24 this year. The concern was pointed out by a social media user from Korea, claiming that there was a moment in the video that was trying to recreate Lisa's car crash.
The sequence appeared in the opening of the video where the color of the vehicle was reportedly the same as the one used by Lisa. The car then crashes towards the side of the road, and a group member retrieves a bottle of Coca-Cola after leaving the car. The footage of Lisa's accident also allegedly featured her passing a Coca-Cola box to other people sitting inside the car.
While NewJeans did not respond to the controversy surrounding the video, they faced criticism from some members of the public due to the video being restricted in 14 countries, Fans of the girl group also claimed on social media that they could not access the video.
Apart from her career in music, Lisa Lopes was famous for her philanthropic activities and was planning to form educational centers for children before her death.
