Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on Monday, September 16, and held without bail as he pleaded not guilty to multiple charges that included s*x trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. The music mogul will remain in jail as he awaits his trial. Meanwhile, many legal experts have opined that he will certainly face prison time and will not be able to enter a plea deal to get out of the same.

As per NBC News, in the 14-page indictment against Diddy, he was accused of creating a “criminal enterprise” that took part in “s*x trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
The allegations date back to 2008 when he was accused of drugging women to keep them “obedient,” allegedly forcing them to perform s*xual acts and making them take part in dayslong s*xual performances that were dubbed as “Freak Offs.” Meanwhile, the indictment against him also includes the attack on his now ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura which was captured on video and released to the public.
Former New York prosecutor and criminal defense attorney Paul Callan exclusively told US magazine that “a sentence of 10 to 20 years if convicted is likely.”
More about Diddy’s possible prison time as rapper gets denied bail amid slew of charges
The U.S. Department of Justice released a press statement that broke down each count against Diddy alongside how much time the rapper would have to serve if found guilty on each count. They stated that Combs was:
“charged with one count of racketeering conspiracy, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison; one count of s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison; and transportation for purposes of prostitution, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison."
If Combs is convicted on every charge, he will be ordered to spend a minimum of 15 years in prison and also have the possibility of a life sentence.
Former prosecutor Robert Sparks also spoke with Your Tango to opine that the manner in which the U.S. District Attorney’s office has “built their case” against Combs makes prison inescapable for him. Sparks said:
“Don’t get it twisted: Even Puff Daddy doesn’t have enough money to make this go away… At the end of the day, I think this indictment is too specific; it goes for too long, and most importantly, the have too much evidence, too many witnesses for him to get out of this thing. One of the biggest icons in the world is gonna be doing prison time.”
As Diddy battles multiple criminal charges, he is also facing numerous civil suits from women who have accused him of s*xual assault. He now remains in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center until his trial. A date for the same was not scheduled at the time of writing this article, as reported by Deadline.
