Young Thug, the renowned rapper, and artist, finds himself at the center of attention again, but this time due to an unexpected source — his children.
In a recent social media development, on July 10, 2024, a snippet of an untitled song was posted on Instagram. Purportedly featuring vocals from Thug's offspring, the song seemingly dissed Gunna, Thug's friend.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, a clip initially shared by Triller shows Thug's sons seemingly dissing Gunna. The clip begins with two of his sons supposedly in a living room holding cash in their hands, dancing, and rapping. Later, they were joined by their elder brother, who also showed cash on the camera and began dancing with other boys and rapping.
As the shared clip surfaced online, curiosity among fans and music enthusiasts grew regarding the children of Thug, the owner of the YSL record label. Young Thug is a father of six children.
The clip garnered significant attention primarily due to its connection to Young Thug's children and the alleged beef between Thugger and Gunna. Allegedly, Gunna managed to avoid charges in a RICO case and was acquitted, while Thugger became entangled in legal proceedings.
Young Thug's children seemingly aimed Gunna in the Instagram snippet
On Wednesday, the snippet of Thug's children shared online had a highlight — the bars. The children allegedly dissed many artists, but the high point was when one of the kids rapped, suggesting that Gunna would be "whack" if he did not leave Los Angeles.
"And Bentley a rat he keep leaving states. And Gunna get whacked if he don't leave L.A," the children rapped.
The bar about Gunna was a highlight because it is widely assumed that Gunna had snitched on Thugger to avoid or reduce imprisonment. Thugger, Gunna, and other YSL members were arrested in May 2022 under the violating Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, as per Billboard.
Initially, Gunna was charged with seven months in jail but was later reduced to 500 hours of community service. In addition, after his release from jail, things became sour between Gunna and Thugger when a video of Gunna's plea was leaked, in which he admitted to illegal activities involving YSL.
Thugger, who was charged with multiple felony charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, is currently facing the legal proceedings of the RICO case. The recent update to the case has been paused until the new judge takes over the case. Moreover, he has not yet commented on the alleged diss track by his children.
Exploring Young Thug's parenthood
Thugger is a father to six children — three sons and three daughters. His firstborn came when Young Thug was 17. Not much is known about his firstborn. However, his second and third sons are known as Jacob and Jahmir. Only a little information about these two is available, but it is known that they are establishing their careers.
On the other hand, Young Thug's three daughters are relatively prominent in public. The two names are not publicized yet; however, Thug's little daughter, Mari Meg, is the most notable. She has her own Instagram account and often shares her quality time with her father on TikTok.
The rapper has often shared his parenting opinion suggesting people with less money or resources should try to avoid having more children as it affects the children's well-being, and they end up being criminals.
"God needs to set some rules. We need new rules. We need a new oath. You're bringing poor kids into this world f**k [expletive]. You're making [expletive] rob and kill, and steal because you are running around with no type of career, no nothing," Thugger said on Instagram Live.
In another instance in 2015, Thug, while seeking custody of his children who were residing with their mother, implied that individuals without employment should not have custody of a wealthy man's children.
"I just wanna no y should a peasant with no job, or future, or apartment/house/condo have custody of a rich mans child!! I'm lost," Thugger wrote.
The details regarding the mothers of Young Thug's children remain undisclosed, reflecting his preference for privacy in personal matters. However, according to The Sun, Thug reported that his children are from four different women.
Additionally, Thugger was once linked with Amy Luciani and was engaged to Jerrika Karlae.
The most notable information pertains to the mother of one of Thug's children, Lakevia Jackson, who tragically passed away due to a gunshot wound. The incident occurred in the Metro Fun Centre parking lot on Metropolitan Parkway on March 17, 2022. Lakevia Jackson was known to have shared a 14-year-old son with Young Thug.
