In an Instagram post dated July 20, 2024, DJ Akademiks claimed that rapper and actor Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, named his son after Drake. The claims surfaced online after Gambino published his apparent Drake diss track, Yoshinoya, on July 19, 2024.

In a verse from his track, he addressed an unnamed target. Hot New Hip Hop speculated that the rapper might have been aiming at Drizzy Drake.

The lyrics of Gambino's song read:

"I put your boy in the seat. You got your biz' in the streets. I wash my hands when I eat. I never hand her the key."

“Boy” alluded to the nickname that Drake has been using for the past ten years. People magazine reported on May 16, 2024, that Gambino and his wife, Michelle White, are parents to three children, whose names are Legend (2016), Drake (2018) and Donald (2020).

All about Childish Gambino’s three sons: Legend, Drake, and Donald

Early in 2016, Childish Gambino and his wife Michelle welcomed their first son, Legend. Then, Drake was born in January 2018, followed by Donald Jr. in 2020.

E! News confirmed that Gambino and White were first spotted together in 2016. White was pregnant when the two were pictured together while on vacation in Hawaii. After a while, she gave birth to their first child.

Over the years, the couple has maintained their utmost privacy. However, Gambino disclosed Legend's identity when he dedicated his song Baby Boy to him at the Governors Ball Music Festival in July 2017.

After announcing the birth of his second son Drake, the actor opened up about his and Michelle's respective parenting responsibilities. He told People magazine on January 5, 2018:

"I think my partner, she does all the hard stuff, to be honest."

In July 2019, Childish Gambino made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live for the promotion of The Lion King in which he voiced adult Simba. During this conversation, Gambino shared that his son is a fan of the original 1994 animated movie.

Two years later, Gambino disclosed that he and White had welcomed a third child during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, Gambino revealed that he named his third son after his deceased father, Donald Glover Sr.

Talking about the mixed feelings he experienced when his son was born, he told GQ on September 29, 2020:

"Yeah, it was nuts. I was in the hospital bed. My son had just been born, like, an hour before and I was watching the George Floyd video."

The rapper added:

"It was such an intense, weird moment, because I’m watching that ivideo and it’s like eight minutes long, so you’re sitting there and I had just had this amazing, joyful, expanding moment, plus my dad had passed away recently, so [my son] was named after my father.”

Moreover, Childish Gambino dropped his 10th soundtrack, Can You Feel Me, featuring his oldest son, Legend, who sang the final verse:

"Without your love, I wouldn't be here. Tears in my eyes, boys who was telling me lies / Daddy took me to the side, told me it was OK to cry."

Childish Gambino apparently dissed Drizzy in his new released track. In the song, he rapped:

“I put your boy in the seat / You got your biz' in the streets / I wash my hands when I eat / I never hand her the key / I don't know no one BD / But they dependent on me / N----s don't know where I'm at / I find your house on the app"

"BD" referred to "baby daddy," reportedly hinting at the Toronto rapper. For the unversed, Rich Baby Daddy was another hit single that Drake released in 2023. However, Gambino had not confirmed any of the references used in his track at the time of publishing this article.
