Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist reportedly began dating in 2021 and have been spotted together on different occasions. Furthermore, the duo was additionally featured in the music video of Mariah's single, Walked In.

Mariah also responded to her partner's release from prison while she opened for Latto as part of the Sugar Honey Iced Tea tour at Barclay's Center on October 31. She expressed her happiness on Thug's release as she told the audience:

"This s**t is so f**king unbelievable. Let's just make it to the end so I can get on this jet because you know what I'm finna do."
