American singer Dawn Richard has sued music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs for allegedly s*xually assaulting her. Richard has become one of the many complainants who have filed lawsuits against Diddy, since last year when singer Cassie Ventura sued him.

Dawn is a 41-year-old singer with a net worth of about $2.5 million, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth. Born in New Orleans, she is best known for being a part of the girl group Danity Kane. The band released a self-titled debut studio album in 2006, which ended up selling more than a million copies across the US.

Dawn Richard got her first career breakthrough after she auditioned for MTV's reality talent contest Making the Band 3. The show resulted in the formation of a five-member girl group, Danity Kane, which was signed to Bad Boy Records by Diddy. The band saw immediate commercial success and became the first female group in Billboard history to debut their first two albums at the top of the charts. However, despite their success, the group disbanded in early 2009.

According to TMZ, Richard claimed that Diddy once entered her dressing room and groped her. She further mentioned in the lawsuit that he once invited her to his Miami residence and greeted her while wearing only underwear.

Born on August 5, 1983, Dawn Richard is a popular singer who was part of the group Danity Kane and later formed a trio named Diddy – Dirty Money. The trio consisted of Richard, Diddy, and Kalenna Harper. They began operating in 2009 and disbanded in 2012.

In 2013, she got back with former Danity Kane members Shannon Bex and Aundrea Fimbres. Together they released a 10-track album DK3. It peaked at number 44 on the US Billboard 200.

In the first year of being with Danity Kane, Richard was also working on her solo career and ended up releasing her debut album Been a While. In 2011, after she ended her contract with Bad Boy Records and resumed working as a solo artist with the stage name DAWN. Richard had been associated with music since childhood, given her dad Frank Richard was the former lead singer and percussionist for the popular funk/soul band Chocolate Milk.

Apart from being a musician, Dawn Richard introduced her sunglasses line while partnering with Coco & Breezy in 2013. Then in 2016, the singer began working with Adult Swim as a content creator. She had also acted in a few films like 5 Weddings and Izzie's Way Home.

Coming back to her lawsuit filed against Diddy, she has accused her former record producer of verbal abuse, assault, s*xual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Apart from sharing her own experience with Combs, Dawn Richard had claimed to have witnessed Combs abusing his ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura on multiple occasions.

As per the documents obtained by TMZ, Richard has accused the music mogul of manipulating her while she was in the MTV show Making The Band. Diddy allegedly passed demeaning comments against women on the show, like calling them "fat and ugly." As per Page Six, Richard alleges that she was extremely overworked while working under Diddy, due to which she lost a substantial amount of weight, became dehydrated, and developed rashes.

Richard is one of the many people who have accused Diddy of abusive behavior.
