While many celebrities were a part of the 2024 Olympics, Snoop Dogg was one of the most significant ones. He even took part in the Olympics Torch Relay, walking through the streets of Saint-Denis, on July 26, 2024. While his presence became a talked-about event, several speculations regarding his payment were also made.
Initially multiple speculations claimed that the rapper and music producer was paid $500,000 per day. This information, however, was unconfirmed. On Thursday, August 15, Dogg shared a clip on Instagram, where he was praised for bringing so much attention to the Paris Olympics.
In the clip, it was heard that Snoop Dogg was described as the "main star" of the entire 17-day event and that he earned almost $9 million. The rapper had reportedly raised the viewership of the event by 79%. The caption in the clip further read:
"Snoop also lives and parties in Paris for free, all to bring more attention to the Olympics. Almost every top broadcast features Snoop. He attends all major Olympic events. For 17 Olympic days, he’ll earn nearly $9 million."
Along with being a part of the Torch Relay ceremony, he also participated in the closing out handover ceremony along with Dr. Dre.

Several celebrities were present in Paris for the Olympics event. Artists like Lady Gaga and Celine Dion also graced the opening ceremony with their presence. One celebrity, however, who garnered massive attention and increased the event's viewership was Snoop Dogg.
AllHipHop reported that the rapper was further hired by NBC as a prime-time correspondent. NBC also credited Dogg for his contribution in increasing the ratings. As mentioned, he had a performance with Dr. Dre in the closing ceremony. The duo performed Dr. Dre's The Next Episode in the ceremony, after which Dre spoke about Snoop Dogg and said,
"Really, Snoop, he’s the superstar. I’m the co-star when we get on stage. It’s different when we’re in the studio, you know? I’m the captain when we’re in the studio, but when we go outside, Snoop is the guy."
The duo is further set to release their upcoming album Missionary. Hypebeast reported that the album would possibly be released in November this year. Dr. Dre further spoke about Snoop Dogg and said,
"Snoop is really excited about this and so am I. I think people are gonna really enjoy this."
The album was first mentioned by Snoop Dogg back in 2022. Coming back to the Olympics, his moments at the event began in June when he was seen waving hands during the trials. He was seen participating in the 200-meter race wearing Nike track shoes. He had several notable moments which included a swimming lesson with Michael Phelps.
Snoop Dogg was overall a meaningful part of the 2024 Olympics with his immense contribution to the viewership and ratings. Apart from Dogg, celebrities like Tom Cruise, Billie Eilish, French singer Yseult, and many others were part of the event at various points.
