Houston-based rapper Mike Jones has shared alleged screenshots with texts displaying how much he's paid for performing at shows. However, his screenshots have sparked various reactions online, with many accusing the rapper of posting fake texts.

On January 4, 2024, Mike Jones took to Instagram to share the screenshot of a text message where someone allegedly asked him if $100,000 was enough for him to perform. The rapper appeared to agree. The conversation was as follows:

Text: Is 100,000$ enough to get you to perform for my son’s barmizfa?
Jones: What’s the date of the event and we can make that happen for the $100,000.

It is worth noting that the phone number displayed on the screenshot, 281-330-8004, appears to be Mike Jones's cell phone number. The rapper is well-known for giving out T-shirts with the same number on the back, a trademark move in his career. He has also used the number in some of his rap songs, mentioning it as his own.

Therefore, when Jones shared the screenshots, fans doubted their authenticity and alleged that he was sharing fake messages. Many also accused him of texting his own number. One Instagram user commented:

Mike Jones' clarifications came after fans supposedly made fun of him for performing for smaller audiences. The rapper also posted on Instagram on January 4, explaining that he gets paid the same regardless of the number of people attending his shows.

Mike Jones claims his price "does not change" irrespective of the size of the audience he's performing for

On January 4, 2024, Mike Jones took to Instagram to share a screenshot of him allegedly being offered to perform at the Aloha Stadium in February 2025. The screenshot included details of the offer, including $25K fees and $10K for airfare, travel, hotel, and buyout.

The image also included details such as the venue, Aloha Stadium, and the date and time: Friday, February 7, 2025, for 45 minutes. It mentioned that the stadium's capacity was 8,000 people. In the caption, Mike Jones called out people for allegedly making fun of him for performing for smaller crowds.

"lol while yall trying to be funny & make fun of when the shows be light , just know rather it’s 1 person or 8,000 people, that price don’t CHANGE!! In facts it’s going up!!! Yall post ONLY the shows that’s light but overlook MAJORITY of the shows that be lit & packed so it’s cool cuz it shows me that yall some journalists trolls.
"I would love to see what yall make “ Per show per event per anything!! so I can get the laugh last!! Just kno every time u post the private light shows , just kno I still got paid‼️‼️ we in 2025 and u see the offers!!"

Jones' post was followed by the previously mentioned screenshots of him being offered $100,000 for performing at a Bar Mitzvah. Shortly after, fans accused him of faking the texts because the cell phone number, 281-330-8004, was his own in the image. He edited the caption to explain:

"For a lot of reasons -1) was to keep yall from dealing with janky promoter who promote fake shows & 2) I wanted to be accessible n hands on with my fans n supporters and here in 2025 , they hitting the 281-330-8004 # for a bar mitzvah so yea we doing that! So if yall only see 5 or 50 people there lol that’s what that’s for lmao #PaidVacations even when nobody there lol."

Mike Jones rose to prominence with his 2004 single, Slim Tippin, which briefly entered the Billboard Hot 100. His debut studio album, Who Is Mike Jones?, peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 list. The Houston-based rapper often uses the name of his debut album as a catchphrase in his lyrics, alongside his alleged cell phone number.
