Enchanting recently became the subject of rumors after reports surfaced that the 1017 rapper had died on June 10, 2024, at the age of 26. However, her sister, Kayy Jayy, quickly took to social media to dispel the speculation, stating that her sister was on life support and fighting for her life at a hospital.

"Can y'all stop posting you have actual facts. She's still fighting, she's not dead... I'm here at the hospital. My sister is not dead," Jayy wrote on Facebook.

Enchanting, whose real name is Channing Nicole Larry, was just 22 years old when she made an impression on Gucci Mane, leading to her signing at his 1017 record label in 2020. The rapper has several hit songs and studio albums under her belt, releasing her debut project under 1017 titled No Luv in 2022.

Enchanting's latest feature was in Campaign Reezo's Because of You in 2024

Enchanting, a Fort Worth, Texas native, began her music career at the age of 18 by recording mixtapes. According to her website, one of her mixtapes titled Love & Drugs was well-received by her peers, which gave her the confidence to continue down the lane.

Her trajectory into the music industry continued when she signed with Gucci Mane's 1017 record label at the age of 22. She credited record producer J. White for introducing her to Gucci Mane.

White, who has worked with Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doechii, among others, reportedly sent over Enchanting's Instagram profile and her songs when Mane posted that he was looking for new artists to work with.

"Gucci was interested, and he reached out to me the next day," Enchanting added.

Enchanting described her style as "something chill a dash of neo-Soul and a twinge of old school R&B." She added that working for Gucci Mane meant altering her work ethic, working quickly and thoroughly, usually recording from her home.

Describing her workflow in a 2023 interview with the Dallas Observer, she said:

"I usually listen to the beats first. And then I would go into the studio and I’d do melodies first, and then I put words to it. But sometimes, I just record line by line. It just depends how I’m feeling that day."

In 2022, she released her first project under the 1017 banner titled No Luv. The 14-track album featured various collaborations, including Gucci Mane, who appeared on tracks like Big Chant and Issa Photoshoot.

The album's deluxe version, Luv Scarred/No Luv (Deluxe), was released in February 2023. Since then, the rapper has been featured in various songs, including RATCHET MONDAY by Lonny Cash and Slide by Destiny Briona.

In the interview with the Dallas Observer, the rapper expressed her enthusiasm for working with female rappers after collaborating with Atlanta-based rappers like Kali and Baby Tate.

"It's looking hopeful for more and more women to just continue to blow up. I feel like it was a male-dominated sport, but now it’s becoming more feminine-dominated. I love that for the girls," she said.

According to XXL Magazine, Enchanting reportedly parted ways with 1017 in October 2023 and is no longer listed on the record label's website.
