Singer Frankie Valli recently raised concerns among his fans, after the footage from the musician's recent performance made him appear disoriented and showed him lip-syncing to his songs.

Videos from the September 27 concert, which took place at New Brunswick's State Theatre at 8:00 PM, showed that Valli primarily relied on backup vocalists to support him during his performances. During the same, the 90-year-old was photographed mouthing the words to his 1978 hit song, Grease.

Meanwhile, netizens showed concern for the singer's health once the footage went viral on X. They took to the platform to express the same and speculate the reason behind his lip-syncing.

"Times are horrible when you have to come back from the dead in order to pay for bills when you're dead!" one commented.

"I wonder if he has run short of $$$. I hope that isn't the case", wrote another one.

"He's feverishly prepping to sing at Joe Biden's second inauguration. They just haven't had the heart to give him the bad news", another X user wrote.

Criticizing the show's organizers, another person wrote:

"The real singers could not have sold tickets at a higher price unless he was there. Frankie looked barely able to lift the [mic]. Pathetic to use him for money."

Other netizens tried to explain the reason behind him performing at this age and said that it might make him feel "good." Another speculated that handlers of artists have no "shame" and "mercy."

"Maybe it made him feel good," commented another one.

"Because our elders are not to be put in a home and forgotten. He is obviously still singing and people are obviously still paying to hear him sing. Have you ever spent time in a nursing home? They also showed him staring blankly into space and hardly moving his lips while performing his classic hits like Grease and Big Girls Don't Cry. Following this, his admirers, anxious about his health, were alarmed by the incident.

This isn't the first time the singer has raised concern among his fans after a performance. A widely shared video, shot during Valli's August 3 performance at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California, showed the singer moving slowly and barely singing.

After the initial worries about his health following the viral videos gained traction, Frankie Valli's team uploaded a statement on Facebook on August 14, which read:

"Frankie is doing just fine and is super happy to be still performing. The audiences are filling venues and listening to some great music. Frankie is doing what he loves to do at 90… we should be so lucky."

Furthermore, Valli discussed the same thing on September 19 with radio host Lisa Dent of WGN in Chicago, where he acknowledged his love of performing. Regarding how much longer he would perform, Valli informed Dent:

"It may be another year or two at the very most. But I really am enjoying it. I enjoy the performing; I do not enjoy the traveling."

When Dent questioned him regarding the criticism and the memes and videos, which circulated in August, Frankie Valli said,

"Well, I don't understand critics at times. I think most of them are pretty fair, but there are a few who try to find something wrong with everything anybody does."
