How old is Jaydes? Real name and all about the rapper as alleged mugshot goes viral amid recent arrest after being on the run

18-year-old Broward County rapper Jaydes, born Jayden Yen Dumont was arrested on an attempted murder charge on Sunday. In his alleged mugshot that went viral online, Jayden appeared with his eyes squinted close, a bloody nose, and some more blood stains across his face.

According to an Instagram post by @its_onsite, the underground rapper allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend on November 2, after she rejected his advances while they were at his apartment. Jayden was accused of slashing his ex's neck and stabbing her arms and back with a box cutter and scissors.

Several X accounts shared some graphic pictures showcasing the alleged injuries and supposed conversations, in which Jayden’s ex recounted the incident. Per a screenshot shared by @dranksoja on X on November 7, the alleged victim wrote:

"I ran into his bathroom w [with] my phone as soon as i got away and called 911 and he ran away before the cops got there."

An Instagram account, @exposingjaydes, is said to have initially shared screenshots of these conversations detailing the ordeal. Further information on Jaydes' arrest is not available yet.

The Florida rapper was also allegedly involved in another controversy that surfaced in November 2023. Despite being 17 at the time, he purportedly lied about his age and introduced himself as a 16-year-old to two underage girls via message. Jayden allegedly met one of the teens in L.A., in August, who was 14 at the time and they reportedly engaged in inappropriate activities.

On November 6, 2023, X account @ihydj_ shared a screenshot and a screen recording of the supposed conversation between Jayden and the 14-year-old.

Jaydes emerged on the trap music scene through his songs on SoundCloud

Jaydes was born to a Haitian father, and a Puerto Rican and Dominican mother in 2006, in Pompano Beach, Broward County. His parents influenced his introduction to music at an early age. Jayden took piano lessons as an elementary school kid. He began producing beats in his early teens. He explored his knack for music by participating in open mic events and other local talent shows.

According to Pitchfork, at 16, Jayden stopped attending high school in person and switched to an online mode of studying. The rapper reportedly reasoned the other students at school were taking pictures of him without his knowledge in the bathroom.

Jayden’s plugg music reportedly took off on SoundCloud in 2021 with tracks like highschool, scam likely, and trust issues. His breakthrough track was ghetto cupid, which was also released in vinyl following its fame on digital platforms.

The verses in his songs mostly narrate school life, heartbreak, and weed. The young artist's music has been described as a unique blend of R&B, hip-hop, and electronica. His self-produced EPs include Romanticism, Heartpacing, Bipolar, Panic, Sativa, and !?.

Jayden’s music gained fame on streaming platforms and social media. He has also collaborated with artists like Yung Fazzo and Rich Amiri.
