Everything to know about Demi Lovato and her three sisters Amber Smith, Madison De La Garza, and Dallas Lovato

Demi Lovato, born to Dianna De La Garza and Patrick Lovato has three sisters — Amber Smith, Dallas Leigh Lovato, and Madison De La Garza.

In March 2013, 20-year-old Demi Lovato appeared on the show Dana and Jeffrey in the Morning on the WBLI radio station and spoke about her older half-sister Amber, born from their dad Patrick’s previous marriage. The Camp Rock star revealed about Amber, who was then in her 30s:

"She's my half-sister and I talked to her for the very first time in my life around when I turned 20."

Demi Lovato entered her twenties on August 20 the previous year (2012). She continued speaking about Amber Smith to the radio show hosts and shared an interaction with her older sister. Demi revealed that she asked Amber about not reaching out to her, to which she told the singer:

"Well, because I never wanted you to think I wanted anything from you. So I've just kind of been waiting to see if you wanted a relationship."

Demi said she thought her sister's approach was "so incredible".

The Made in the USA singer's other older sister Dallas Lovato, 36, who shares the same parents as Demi, is a vocal and acting coach as per her Instagram bio. Dallas also has a few acting credits in her bag. She appeared as a guest on two of her sister's popular shows, Wizards of Waverly Place in 2008 and Sonny With a Chance in 2009.

Dallas Lovato exhibited her voice-over skills in several animated movies including Birds of Paradise, Snowflake, the White Gorilla, A Mouse Tale, Frog Kingdom, Wings: Sky Force Heroes, Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Charming.

Demi and Dallas Lovato's younger half-sister Madison De La Garza, born to Dianna and her second husband Eddi De La Garza is popularly known for playing Juanita Solis in Desperate Housewives. According to IMBD, she appeared on 72 episodes throughout Seasons 4 to 8 on the show.

During an episode on Elizabeth Vargas's Heart of the Matter podcast, Madison De La Garza opened up about some of the things she went through while starring in Desperate Housewives. She began her role as Juanita Solis at only 6 years old, and soon was subjected to online bullying aimed at her appearance on the show.

As a result of those negative comments about her weight, Madison De La Garza began suffering from eating disorder when she was seven. Despite recovering from the health struggle with some relapses, the young actress eventually fell prey to marijuana addiction. Describing how smoking weed helped her keep her hunger at bay, Madison said:

"It just completely takes away your appetite to the point where this is the only way; using that is the only way you can control your hunger."

Madison credited her elder sister Demi Lovato with helping her recover from the addiction. She said,

"My sister has always been there for me through all of it...She’s been a huge support system for me and has always been there to listen and give advice and encourage me."

Madison De La Garza shared she was inspired by Demi's ability to be open and honest about her addiction and mental health journey to become "an advocate" herself.
