Canal was quick to comment on that post and dispel the rumors, saying:

"Guys, I am not dating Tom Cruise. This is literally insane lol."

The photo that started the drama was taken in July 2024 during the Glastonbury Festival in England where Victoria Canal was invited onstage by the Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin. She joined the British band to play their hit song Paradise, which she described as a "dream come true" moment.

Besides her one-liner comment on the Page Six post, the 25-year-old Victoria Canal also shared a lengthy post on Instagram to address the dating speculations. She uploaded a photo of her shocked face with her hand covering her mouth and a series of headline clips about her and the Hollywood actor's romance rumors. She wrote in the caption:

"Guys, this is literally bonkers, but apparently the tabloids think I am dating Tom Cruise. I'm deceased. Let's just stop this in its tracks—I'm sorry to bum you out but I am not dating the man, albeit a lovely person & artist."

The young musician jokingly noted that she never thought she would have to clarify such a thing out loud in her life. In the post, she said in jest that if the particular media outlet was going to write something about her, they could have at least used a better picture of her.

However, she also stated that the gossip in the recent news piece has a "huge perk" for her, adding:

"First time I'm Spanish-American singer Victoria Canal and not one-armed pianist whose name remains unmentioned!!!! There's always a win somewhere, thanks Tom."

Canal concluded her post in a more serious tone and added that the Mission Impossible actor has been "nothing but a respectful and encouraging person and mentor" to her.
