Pictures and videos of Camila Cabello performing in what looked like a small crowd have recently gone viral on social media. Some trolls online have tried to drag her for it, with a January 20 post on X laughing over her "empty arena show" and branding her performance as a flop.
While some social media users were led to believe that it was part of some big tour, Camila Cabello's performance was for a college football (AT&T Playoff Playlist Live!) concert in Atlanta leading up to the national championship game.
As some trolls and haters gained traction online, Camilla Cabello received support from her fans who pointed out that it was not her tour concert and also applauded her for giving "her all" despite the small crowd.
"This was the college football playoffs show she was put on to play at, not her own tour. It looks like she's not touring this album. Huge respect to her as well, as she said she didn't tour her last album because her anxiety was so bad she simply couldn't. The show was amazing and she gave it her all to about 40% crowd. Good for her," a user on Reddit commented.
Other Camila Cabello fans also took to X to come to her defense, further noting that the show wasn't promoted by her team because it was not her own concert. They also mentioned that a lot of fans didn't even have any idea about the event.
"This looks more like 80% sold. Mind you, it's not even her tour, it's a sports event and she never even promoted it. Most of her fans had no idea she is doing this. Why are you obsessing over her like a proper fan lol," a user on X wrote.
"Because non of her fans knew it was happening? Her team didn't promote it whatsoever. Her show two days ago sold 20k tickers because it was promoted," another X user commented.
Camilla Cabello also received appreciation from fans for her professionalism, who said that they "respected" her for showing up for her fans and not canceling.
"Most artists would've cancelled their appearance for unknown reasons but she continued and like her or not that is a REAL ARTIST," a user on X wrote.
"And she was grateful and loving to every fan that showed up. Didn't cancel for "mental health" or half a** the performance. She showed up and gave her tall for the people who showed up," another X user wrote.
"Respected Camila, still give the best performance for the audience, if other artists may have used various reasons to cancel the performance," an X user added.
