Adele teased engagement to American sports agent Rich Paul while onstage for her concert in Munich, Germany on Friday, August 9, 2024.
In the clip from the event that made rounds on social media, Adele can be seen speaking to her fans at one point during her performance. She read out a sign that one of her fans had put up, which said, "Will you marry me?" In response to the fan question, the When We Were Young hitmaker said:
"I can't marry you because I'm already getting married, so I can't, but I appreciate it. Thank you!"
With her revelation, the audience can be heard cheering. Meanwhile, on social media, fans are sharing clips of her concert in Germany and cheering the global music star's impending nuptials as well.
Adele previously revealed her marriage plans with Rich Paul
Adele and Rich Paul have been dating for three years and they've also been subject to engagement rumors since 2022, although any plan of marriage was never confirmed until now. However, the singer famously admitted to being "obsessed" with her sports agent boyfriend during a cover shoot for Elle UK in October 2022, saying:
"I've never been in love like this. I'm obsessed with him. I definitely want more kids. I'm a homemaker and I'm a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music."
Besides wanting kids with Rich Paul, when the singer was asked if she would ever consider marrying again, she said she "absolutely" wanted to get married again. But, Adele laughingly mentioned that she's "not married" when pushed with a question about whether or not she was engaged.
The Grammy-winning singer also sparked engagement and marriage rumors after she referred to Rich Paul as her "husband" during one of her Las Vegas residency shows. In her conversations with fans while off the stage, one female audience member seemingly asked for her hand in marriage, to which she replied:
"You can't marry me. I'm straight, my love, and my husband's here tonight."
They further had a friendly banter, where the songstress jokingly tells the same fan to leave her alone because she's "with Rich."
The singer further fueled marriage rumors when she referred to herself as Rich Paul's "wife." During the September 2023 concert in her Las Vegas residency, she revealed that she's not the "greatest wife" because she doesn't particularly love or understand football, saying:
"[I'm] not the greatest wife, really, when it comes to football—even though my partner absolutely loves it."
As for the sports agent, he gushed about the singer during an October 2023 interview with CBS Mornings. He said that they are in a "good space" and that they are great for each other, although he explicitly noted that his personal life is "not for the media."
When the show's host, Gayle King, asked him if she should start calling the singer in the interview "Mrs. Paul," Rich told her that she could say whatever she wanted.
