Popular singer SZA recently opened up about why she believes she is single. In the July 5 episode of Chicken Shop Date, the Nobody Gets Me singer agreed with host Amelia Dimoldenberg when she said that she has had a hard time getting a second date. The rapper mentioned that she's able to "catch" dates but is unable to keep them, adding:

“I feel like I can catch ’em, but I cannot keep ’em. They get with me and they realize I’m f*cking weird, and then it’s just like, ‘Aight.’"

The singer also spoke about the activities she would like to do with her potential partner. She said she wished to do "all the normal things" but also wanted to swim in the swamp and "collect methane gas."

SZA then opened up about the concept of love and wondered if she was "meant to fall in love."

“It’s tragic. I don’t even know if I’m meant to fall in love. ‘Cause who’s actually doing it and sustaining it? I think we’re just supposed to be in fleeting states of loving,” she added.

During the July 5 episode of Chicken Shop Date, the artist also reflected on the lyrics of her 2022 hit track, Kill Bill. She achieved a milestone with the song as it became her first solo number to rise to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

Kill Bill, a single from the rapper's second studio album SOS, references Quentin Tarantino's iconic Kill Bill duology of films. The lyrics talk about the desire to kill an ex-boyfriend. Reflecting on her lyrics, SZA admitted they were "harsh" and added:

"Oh my God, after I said that, I was like, 'That was so crazy and harsh.' I was just randomly slightly enraged.”

The singer also reflected on the part where she wrote she would rather be in jail than alone. She rhetorically asked why one would assume the sentiment was true simply because she sang it.

"Cause I sung that, it has to be true?” she asked.

In the lyrics, SZA sang about wanting to kill an ex and his new girlfriend, despite still being in love with her ex. The chorus went:

"I might kill my ex, not the best idea/ His new girlfriend's next, how'd I get here?/I might kill my ex, I still love him though/ Rather be in jail than alone."

At the end of her interview, the Open Arms singer was asked if she ever wanted to run for president. The singer didn't hesitate before clearly saying she did not, and clarifying that she wants "nothing to do with politics" and only wants "to be left alone."
