Dionne Warwick, a legendary icon with decades of experience in the music industry, has built her career on talent and authenticity. In a recent segment with NPR titled "Nobody Asked for This (But I'm Gonna Tell You Anyhow)," Warwick rated several popular songs.

The segment, which she shared on Twitter on Friday (Sept. 27), featured her thoughts on tracks from artists including Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Kendrick Lamar, and Sabrina Carpenter.

Warwick used a unique rating system, giving each track a score between one and five "Dionnes." She began with Chappell Roan's Good Luck, Babe! - a song Warwick noted had "almost an ABBA feeling." The song received four-and-a-half Dionnes, with Warwick praising Roan for having her "own thing going on" and describing it as "a wonderful thing."

When Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us was played, Warwick's demeanor shifted to one of exasperation. "This is the look of 'why'?" she said, referencing her thoughts on the public feud between Lamar and Drake.

"I don't think that this should be a public thing," she added.

Warwick refused to give the track a rating, stating

"So as far as I'm concerned, I'm not going to rate this one."

In addition to her thoughts on Lamar and Roan, Dionne Warwick also offered her take on several other songs. One standout was Sabrina Carpenter's track Feather, which Warwick found "refreshing" and "playful." She appreciated Carpenter's vocal delivery and energy, awarding the song three Dionnes, noting, "It's a fun song, but it doesn’t push boundaries." Warwick also gave Carpenter's Please Please Please a rating of four-and-a half Dionnes.

Charli XCX's track Guess received a rating of four Dionnes. While Warwick admitted that she was unfamiliar with Charli's album Brat, she still enjoyed the track and even jokingly considered herself part of the brat category. "I possibly am," she said with a smile.

Dionne Warwick's disapproval of Kendrick Lamar's diss track wasn't her first instance of avoiding commentary on public feuds. In April, a fan on X (formerly Twitter) asked her to share her thoughts on J. Cole's involvement in another rap feud. Warwick's response was succinct:

"No. I will continue to mind my business."
