“I was excited to meet you”: Michael Buble expresses his feelings of always wanting to work with Snoop Dogg

Michael Buble, one of the coaches for the upcoming 26th season of The Voice, expressed that he had always wanted to work with Snoop Dogg.

The Haven’t Met You Yet hitmaker made this known at the Special Behind the Mic backstage panel, which featured the four coaches of the upcoming season of The Voice—Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Michael Buble, and Snoop Dogg.

In a video uploaded by The Voice on their YouTube channel on September 10, 2024, the coaches interacted with one another and shared stories about their first studio experiences.

Snoop Dogg then asked:

“When you finally met that artist that you wanted to work with your whole life and you got a chance to work with them, what was that feeling? And you can name that artist if you have."

Michael Buble was the first coach to reply. He told Snoop Dogg that he loved him so much and got emotional as he said:

“Because the truth is, I was really excited. I was so excited to meet you and you were better than I ever thought you could be. That's the truth."

When Snoop Dogg asked The Voice coaches about their dream collaborators, Buble responded that Snoop wouldn’t believe him. When Snoop urged him to disclose the person, Buble then mentioned Snoop and added that he was nervous to meet the Gin & Juice hitmaker for the first time.

Michael Buble revealed that he had been a longtime fan of Snoop and was worried that Snoop Dogg wouldn’t meet up to his expectations of him. He said:

"I love you so much, I'm not joking. My family loves you. I was so terrified that you wouldn't be who you are. I was so excited to do this with you, and people say, 'No, man, he has a great reputation.' I was so nervous the day we showed up and you were awesome, man. It was huge for me."

Snoop was touched by the other coach’s high opinion of him and appreciated him for his comments. Gwen Stefani, who has been a coach on The Voice for seven seasons, also shared the same sentiments.

She added that she felt the same way as Michael Buble when she hung out with Snoop at the MTV Awards.

Snoop then narrated his own experience with his dream collaborator, James Brown. Snoop met the music icon when he was filming Bones, the 2001 movie.

He was shocked to learn that James Brown was trying to get in contact with him. Snoop said:

"I said, 'Stop playing with me, man. James Brown doesn't want to meet me.' And he drove all the way to my house and we spent about three hours at a picnic table just side by side,"

Snoop recalled:

“We had microphones in front of him and in front of me and we just talked. He was telling me things about my life and career that are actually happening right now."
