Macy Gray recently opened up about taking Ozempic and feeling really constipated as a side effect of the Type 2 Diabetes medicine.

In an appeareance on MTV's The Surreal Life, Macy Gray, while speaking to Kim Zolciak and Johnny Weir, revealed she had been taking Ozempic which left her constipated.

"Oh boy, my stomach hurt. I've just been really constipated. I took Ozempic. I can't go to the bathroom, and I was up all night."

To which Zolciak added:

"Ozempic does that. You have to be really careful, you know."

As per UC Davis Health, Ozempic is an anti-diabetic medicine used to treat Type 2 diabetes. When prescribed, it is to be injected weekly to help the pancreas make more insulin and lower blood pressure. However, Ozempic is not FDA approved for weight loss.

"Let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic" - Macy Gray

During a confessional in the recent episode of The Surreal Life, Macy Gray revealed she has gained a lot of weight over the last couple of years and turned to Ozempic.

"So, I thought, okay, I'm not taking (the weight) off the right way, let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic.

Macy Gray also added she wanted to use the Diabetes medication to lose weight before appearing on TV, but that didn't happen.

Although the medication is not FDA approved, many other celebrities have opened up about taking Ozempic to manage weight loss. As per Hunter Medical Research Institute Ozempic's active ingredient, Semaglutide induces satiety and keeps you feeling full, which helps in supressing appetite.

While speaking to E! Online in February 2024, Kelly Osbourne spoke in support of Ozempic. Kelly mentioned the drug is "amazing" and the people giving it backlash are the ones who are "secretly doing it" or upset "that they can't afford it."

Kelly also added:

"There are a million ways to lose weight, why not doing it through something that's isn't as boring as working out?"

Khloe Kardashian, in an episode of The Kardashians which aired on July 11, also spoke candidly about Ozempic, mentioning had it been available when she was on her weight loss journey, she would have taken it:

"When I was bigger, if they had Ozempic, I probably would have tried it because I tried any other thing. I tried any fad weight loss trend except for the real thing that actually works, and that's a lifestyle change."

Bella Thorne believes otherwise, and in an exclusive interview published on July 24 with US Weekly, revealed she doesn't think it's good. Thorne took to Instagram stories on July 20 revealing she hasn't been feeling good about her body with "especially everybody on Ozempic."

She also hoped the Ozempic craze dies down and people can go back to the progress they have made with accepting all types of bodies. She then concluded by saying she's "finally feeling good" and added "so Ozempic, you can" before flipping off the camera.
