Jim Jones has recently challenged Lil Yachty on a $1000 drip challenge to prove which city has the better fashion sense between New York and Atlanta. In a recent episode of A Safe Space podcast, Lil Yachty criticized the fashion sense of New Yorkers and commented that his fashion sense is much better than others.
Besides facing backlash on social media, this instigated Jim Jones to challenge him to a dress-off. In a video shared by DJ Akademiks on Instagram, Jim Jones could be seen calling Lil Yachty out for a New York vs. Atlanta drip challenge. The 48-year-old rapper set the rules and allotted $1000 for each rapper to select the best attire.
The two of them would be judged based on their dressing sense and it will also decide the winner of the New York vs. Atlanta fashion feud.

Why are Jim Jones and so many New Yorkers mad at Lil Yachty?
In episode 24 of A Safe Space podcast, Lil Yachty opined about the dressing sense of New Yorkers and many people construed it as him saying that New York people, especially ones from the Bronx, have zero fashion sense. Speaking to co-host MitchGoneMad and New York rapper Cash Cobain, he commented,
“I don’t think there’s shit goin’ on when it comes to New York fashion."
Thereafter, Yachty and Mitch named brands like Amiri, Purple, Hellstar, and others and commented that most people in New York always wear these brands and aren't stylish. Thereafter, Lil Yachty dissed the dressing sense of people from Queens, Bronx before talking about his hometown of Atlanta.
According to the rapper, even Atlanta folks dress terribly and it is only him who has a good fashion sense.
“It’s just me, myself, and I. I stand on a hill alone. That’s all I know. I can’t speak for nobody else but myself."
Lil Yachty's words have triggered a backlash from several big names in the industry over the last few days.
