Cassie and Alex tied the knot on August 28, 2019, shortly after going public with their romance. The singer met her now-husband at the gym, where Alex was her trainer, and the duo instantly connected. Speaking with Vogue in 2019, Cassie Ventura suggested they discussed marriage from the beginning.

She further added, praising Alex's efforts, that even though the dates of their wedding were decided, Alex still planned a "proposal" for her, which surprised her.

"I knew that Alex was designing a ring, but I honestly wasn't expecting a super elaborate proposal because we already had the wedding date set, but he planned such a beautiful experience for me. I was so surprised," Cassie told Vogue.

The couple welcomed their first daughter in December 2019 and second in March 2021.

Why were people supporting Cassie Ventura?

The outpouring of love and support from fans and followers, especially on getting Alex as a husband, was due to surveillance footage that emerged last month. On May 17, 2024, CNN shared a complication of surveillance video from multiple camera angles of an incident on March 5, 2016.

In the video footage, Diddy, Bad Boy record producer and Cassie's former partner, was seen allegedly assaulting Cassie in the corridor of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City. Cassie Ventura filed the lawsuit against him in November 2023, which was settled a day later.

After the release of the surveillance video, Cassie stated on Instagram, where she showed gratitude for the support and advised people to believe in the victim at first:

"Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning," Cassie Ventura wrote.

She further wrote:

"My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in. I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don't cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone," the singer advised in the post.

Two days after the release of the video, Diddy issued an apology video in a now-deleted Instagram post, where he took complete responsibility for his action and suggested he was "disgusted."

"My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab," Combs said.
"I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry," he continued in the video.

In the past few months, Diddy has encountered many lawsuits and allegations, which he has not addressed yet.
