On December 23, Young Thug grabbed headlines after his two-year-old prison call with Leena Sayed was leaked. During the call, Thug told Sayed to move on because his legal problems were expected to take longer than expected to resolve.
Thug's words grabbed a lot of attention from the general public since he was romantically linked to Mariah the Scientist when the call was made in 2022.
Young Thug seemingly addressed the prison call while speaking to a friend on video
The rapper's prison call led to a lineup of reactions on social media, with a few people alleging that he was cheating on Mariah the Scientist. Although he has now apologized to Mariah on social media, he seemingly addressed the viral phone call as he spoke to his friend recently, as per Hip Hop DX. Thug said:
"I ain't even been calling no other girls. I ain't call no other girls in like a week. And I usually call at least 10 other girls when I get on the phone just to kill time."
The clip, which Live Bitez obtained, also featured Thug speaking on his relationship with Mariah. He was heard saying that Mariah loves him a lot, and it is so much that Mariah might "smack" him if he does something wrong. However, he clarified that he would never do anything wrong.
A report by People magazine stated that Thug and Mariah were first linked in 2021. Speaking to Big Boy TV the same year, the latter said that she took some time before going official with Thug since she was dealing with the aftermath of her last breakup.
Mariah and Thug have collaborated on a few singles, such as Walked In and Ride. Mariah has three solo albums in her credits, including Master, Ry Ry World, and To Be Eaten Alive.
Young Thug had already responded to the viral prison call
Thug and Sayed spoke to each other for almost 15 minutes when the latter visited Thug in prison in 2022. While Thug told Sayed to find someone else, Leena started sobbing and replied:
"Why would you say that? I don't like anyone but you. I want you."
As the prison call went viral, Young Thug posted a tweet on Tuesday, December 24, clarifying that he and Leena Sayed were discussing something else. He even referred to Sayed's words in the call as he wrote:
"I don't know y she spoke on loving other people or anything else cause ain giving no f*ck bout no h*es or n*ggas I'm the capital P lol that's my twin and nothing else. Never have never will lol."
Leena Sayed also shared an Instagram Story the same day, saying she would never speak to Young Thug or some other man.
